Job Description - BPO - Patient Service Coordinator

Some jobs require capes. This one just requires a headset, a friendly voice, and a cool head. Unity Communications is looking for a Patient Service Coordinator who can bring both Golden Retriever and Virgo energy to the table approachable but organized.

In this role, you'll schedule appointments like Beyonces manager, answer patient questions with grace like a Miss Universe candidate, and handle last-minute changes like the diva you are. Think of it as being a human Waze for patients, guiding them where they need to go, go, go!

How You Spend Your Eight Hours

  • Contribute to a positive work environment by collaborating with healthcare team members and effectively communicating patient care information
  • Prepare and maintain daily appointment templates and patient records
  • Arrange and manage patient referrals
  • Perform patient check-in and check-out functions with accuracy and professionalism
  • Obtain and input accurate scheduling and registration data
  • Coordinate patient flow efficiently, ensuring timeliness and adherence to priority standards
  • Identify and communicate issues that might result in service delays or denials
  • Manage appointment add-ons, reschedules, and cancellations in accordance with facility protocols

What You Must Possess

  • High school diploma (or higher)
  • At least one year of telephonic or in-person customer service experience handling moderate to complex transactions
  • At least one year of healthcare experience, with familiarity in medical terminology and behavioral health.
  • Proficiency with computer systems, including the ability to navigate between screens using a keyboard and mouse
  • Experience working in a physician's office, provider setting, or medical office
  • Knowledge of electronic medical record (EMR) systems and practice management systems
  • Comfort in working with various types of technology
  • Ability to provide a suitable home workspace with broadband internet access
  • Ability to perform all essential job duties satisfactorily
