Job Summary:

We are seeking a detail-oriented and experienced CFTSS Session Notes Writer to support our clinical team by accurately documenting session notes for Children and Family Treatment and Support Services (CFTSS) programs. The ideal candidate will be familiar with behavioral health documentation, Medicaid-compliant note formats, and able to translate clinical information into clear, professional, and compliant session records.

Key Responsibilities:

• Review and transcribe session summaries based on therapist-provided input or audio recordings (as applicable).
• Write clear, accurate, and timely clinical progress notes in alignment with CFTSS requirements and Medicaid regulations.
• Ensure all documentation meets HIPAA standards, agency guidelines, and billing compliance.
• Accurately document interventions, client progress, goals addressed, and future plans.
• Maintain secure and organized digital records of all session notes.
• Collaborate with clinicians and supervisors to clarify any unclear information or ensure consistency with care plans.
• Meet weekly deadlines for submission of completed notes.

• Prior experience writing clinical progress notes or documentation in a behavioral health or social services setting.

• Familiarity with CFTSS programs and Medicaid documentation standards (preferably in New York State).
• Strong understanding of clinical terminology and confidentiality regulations (HIPAA).
• Excellent writing, grammar, and editing skills.
• High attention to detail and ability to maintain consistency in documentation.
• Ability to work independently and manage time efficiently.
• Proficient in using EHR systems, Google Workspace, or Microsoft Office.
• Background in social work, psychology, counseling, or related field.
• Experience working with children, adolescents, and families.
• Knowledge of HCBS and/or OMH services a plus.
