Job Description - Demand Planner (Retail/eCommerce) - Work from home

  • Develop, maintain, and refine short and long-term forecasts at SKU level across all sales channels (eCommerce, wholesale, international markets).
  • Incorporate historical sales data, seasonality, promotions, product launches, and market trends into forecasting models.
  • Monitor forecast accuracy and continuously improve forecasting methodology.
  • Work closely with Supply Chain and Production teams to ensure timely and accurate stock replenishment based on forecasted needs.
  • Proactively identify risks related to stockouts or overstock and recommend mitigation plans.
  • Support decisions on safety stock levels, lead times, and reorder points for each warehouse or fulfilment location.
  • Support planning for new product introductions, limited edition ranges, and product phase-outs.
  • Assist with determining launch quantities, end-of-life sell-through plans, and markdown strategies based on demand data.
  • Partner with Marketing to incorporate campaign plans and sales events into demand planning.
  • Collaborate with Finance and eCommerce teams on budgeting, sales targets, and inventory investment.
  • Work with Customer Care and Merchandising teams to ensure demand plans reflect customer behaviour and feedback.
  • Maintain accurate forecasting tools, reports, and dashboards.
  • Provide weekly and monthly reporting on demand performance, forecast accuracy, and key inventory KPIs.
  • Analyse demand variances and prepare insights to support strategic decisions.
  • Other role-specific duties that may arise.
  • Bachelor’s degree in Supply Chain, Business, Finance, or related field.
  • 5 years of experience in demand planning, inventory planning, or supply chain analysis in a consumer goods, retail, or eCommerce environment.
  • Experience in a high-growth, multi-channel eCommerce business desirable.
  • Proven ability to build and manage forecasting models across multiple SKUs and regions.
  • Knowledge of international markets and demand forecasting across regions/time zones is a plus.
  • Strong analytical and numerical skills with attention to detail.
  • Excellent Excel/Google Sheets skills; experience with planning or ERP tools like NetSuite, DEAR Systems, or TradeGecko is highly regarded.
  • Familiarity with Shopify, inventory planning tools (e.g., Inventory Planner, Anaplan), or BI tools (Looker, Power BI) advantageous.
  • Understanding of seasonal and promotional sales cycles, especially in fashion or baby/kids products.
  • Interest in or experience with children’s products, fashion, or DTC (direct-to-consumer) brands.
  • A proactive, commercially-minded approach to planning and problem-solving.
  • Strong communication and collaboration skills across cross-functional teams.
