Electrical Design Draftsperson (AutoCAD Electrical) - Work from home

Join a collaborative and growth-focused electrical engineering team delivering high-quality switchboard and control system designs. You’ll use AutoCAD Electrical to develop precise drawings and documentation, working closely with engineers and project teams to meet Australian and New Zealand standards.

• Prepare detailed single-line diagrams, wiring layouts, and electrical schematics based on engineering inputs and site redlines.
• Develop and maintain electrical drawings for low-voltage systems, including main switchboards, motor control centres (MCCs), distribution boards, and control panels using AutoCAD Electrical.
• Produce control panel layouts and as-built documentation aligned with engineering specifications and company standards.
• Ensure all drawings comply with Australian/New Zealand electrical standards, wiring rules, and internal QA procedures.
• Work closely with the Engineering Team, Project Managers, and the Switchboard Manufacturing Team.
• Maintain accurate version control and manage drawing updates throughout the project lifecycle.
• Assist in developing and maintaining standard design libraries, templates, and symbols.
• Support quality assurance by ensuring documentation accuracy, consistency, and compliance across all projects.
• Participate in process and continuous improvement initiatives within the engineering function.
• Contribute to effective document control within established systems.
• Identify and help mitigate risks in electrical design and documentation.
• Perform other role-specific duties as required.

• Bachelor’s Degree in Electrical Engineering.
• Minimum 5 years of experience in a similar position.
• Proven professional experience using AutoCAD Electrical.
• Strong background in electrical drafting and detailing, including single-line diagrams, wiring schematics, and control panel layouts.
• Experience in commercial or industrial electrical systems, switchboards, or automation/control environments.
• Sound understanding of relevant Australian/New Zealand wiring and drawing standards.
• Familiarity with quality and risk management processes.
• Excellent attention to detail, organisation, and communication skills.
• Ability to collaborate effectively within a team and manage multiple projects simultaneously.
