Job Description - Insurance Claim Estimator / Billing Assistant

Job Title: Insurance Claim Estimator / Billing Assistant

Position type: Full-time

Work hours: 8:00 AM – 5:00 PM EDT

Work days: Monday – Friday

Salary: TBD

Position Overview

This role provides administrative support to the Estimating and Billing departments. You'll assist in preparing estimates for denied or underpaid claims, support supplement documentation, and help ensure all jobs are billed correctly and promptly.

Key Responsibilities

  • Support creation of supplemental documentation for underpaid or denied claims.
  • Review and organize claim documents, photos, adjuster notes, and scopes.
  • Help draft invoices and submit final billing to insurance or homeowners.
  • Track the status of estimates and invoices and follow up on missing items.
  • Maintain accurate records in CRM and shared file systems.

Experience & Skills Needed

  • 2+ years of experience in health insurance, billing, or claims documentation.
  • Ability to interpret complex reports (EOBs, adjuster estimates, policy summaries).
  • Detail-oriented with excellent data entry and document management skills.
  • Familiarity with billing cycles and escalation processes.
  • Bonus: experience with Xactimate, Symbility, or insurance supplementing.

Basic requirements

  • Must be proficient in speaking and writing English very clearly
  • Must have relevant work experience
  • Be able to submit an NBI clearance and/or Local Police Clearance background check before onboarding [mandatory]
  • Must be available for video meetings with your camera on (when needed)
  • No other clients during required work hours

  • Video: Webcam for virtual meetings.
