We are hiring for IT Infrastructure Engineer for a client based in Eastwood

The IT Infrastructure Engineer is responsible for designing, implementing, maintaining, and securing the organisation's IT infrastructure, focusing on Windows environments, Microsoft 365, Entra ID, Azure, Intune, Defender, and Purview. This role will support the IT Infrastructure Lead in ensuring enterprise IT systems' reliability, security, and performance, contributing to continuous improvements and modernisation efforts.

Requirements: 

• 3+ years of IT infrastructure engineering experience, focusing on Microsoft technologies
• Hands-on experience with Windows Server administration, Microsoft 365, and Azure environments
• Experience with Intune for device and application management
• Familiarity with security tools like Microsoft Defender and compliance solutions like Purview
• Exposure to scripting and automation using PowerShell
• Bachelors degree in information technology, Computer Science, or a related field
• Relevant certifications such as Microsoft Certified: Azure Administrator, Microsoft 365 Certified: Modern Desktop Administrator, or equivalent are advantageous.

Responsibilities: 

Infrastructure Management & Support

• Manage and maintain Windows Server environments, including Active Directory, Group Policy, and DNS/DHCP.
• Oversee and administer Microsoft 365 services, including Exchange Online, SharePoint, OneDrive, and Teams.
• Configure and manage Entra ID (Azure Active Directory) for identity and access management.
• Deploy and optimise Microsoft Intune for endpoint management and security.
• Support and maintain cloud infrastructure within Azure, including virtual machines, networking, and security configurations.

Security & Compliance

• Implement and manage Microsoft Defender for endpoint, identity, and cloud security.
• Work with Microsoft Purview to ensure compliance, data governance, and security policies.
• Assist in implementing security best practices, vulnerability management, and patching strategies.

Operational Support & Troubleshooting

• Provide technical support for escalated infrastructure-related incidents and service requests.
• Monitor system performance, availability, and security through proactive monitoring tools.
• Ensure regular backups and disaster recovery plans are in place and tested.

Automation & Optimization

• Automate IT processes using PowerShell, Azure Automation, and other scripting tools.
• Implement Infrastructure as Code (IaC) solutions using Terraform, ARM templates, or similar.
• Drive continuous improvement and optimisation of IT infrastructure and cloud resources.

Collaboration & Documentation

• Work closely with the IT Infrastructure Manager and other teams to support business objectives.
• Maintain accurate documentation for system configurations, processes, and procedures.
• Assist with IT projects, migrations, and deployments as needed.
