Medical Biller - Urgent Care

We are seeking a detail-oriented and experienced Medical Biller to support a fast-paced urgent care. This role is primarily focused on managing the full billing cycle, ensuring accurate claim processing, and optimizing revenue through efficient follow-up and resolution of billing issues.

Key Responsibilities:

• Manage the full medical billing cycle, including charge entry, claims submission, payment posting, and denial management.
• Review, identify, and resolve denied or rejected claims in a timely manner.
• Perform insurance verification, eligibility checks, and prior authorizations.
• Ensure accurate coding using CPT, ICD-10, and HCPCS standards specific to urgent care settings.
• Review documentation for accuracy and completeness prior to claim submission.
• Collaborate with internal teams to resolve billing discrepancies.

• Minimum of 2 years of medical billing experience in urgent care or high-volume outpatient settings.
• Strong knowledge of CPT, ICD-10, and HCPCS coding.
• Proven experience managing the full billing cycle.
• Hands-on experience with Athena EHR
• Strong understanding of payer guidelines (Medicare, Medicaid, and commercial plans)
• Excellent attention to detail and accuracy in coding and documentation
• Strong English communication skills
• Ability to handle high claim volumes in a fast-paced environment

Please note that this is a full-time contractor position (40 hours per week) offering a pay rate of $7–$8 per hour, based on experience and qualifications. The work schedule is 9 AM to 6 PM PST, Monday through Friday.
