Medical Virtual Scribe - ECW and Rheumatology Practice required

We are seeking a highly detail-oriented Medical Virtual Scribe to support providers by preparing charts, documenting patient encounters, and managing clinical documentation before and after visits. This role works closely with an in-person medical scribe, ensuring accurate, timely, and complete medical records.

Experience supporting rheumatology providers is a strong advantage, particularly familiarity with chronic disease management, specialty labs, and detailed longitudinal documentation.

Medical Scribing & Documentation

• Prepare pre-visit charts, including chief complaint, PMH, medications, allergies, and recent labs
• Support visit documentation in coordination with the in-person scribe
• Draft and organize progress notes, assessments, and plans as directed by the provider
• Maintain accurate problem lists, medication histories, and clinical updates

Patient & Clinical Coordination

• Contact patients as needed to clarify visit details or obtain missing documentation
• Request, organize, and upload outside records, imaging, and lab results
• Ensure all documents are correctly labeled and indexed in eClinicalWorks (ECW)

Lab & Order Support

• Enter lab orders in eClinicalWorks per provider instruction
• Track lab results and flag abnormal or missing findings for provider review
• Assist with specialty lab coordination commonly used in rheumatology (preferred)

EMR & Workflow Support

• Maintain clean, organized, and compliant patient charts in ECW
• Adhere to clinic documentation standards and HIPAA requirements
• Anticipate provider documentation needs to support efficient clinic flow

Required Qualifications

• Proven experience as a Medical Scribe (virtual or in-person)
• Hands-on eClinicalWorks (ECW) experience
• Strong understanding of medical terminology and clinical documentation workflows
• Experience with pre-charting, visit documentation, and post-visit chart completion
• Ability to work accurately and efficiently in a fast-paced environment
• Availability to work PST-aligned hours

Preferred Qualifications

• Rheumatology scribing experience or prior exposure to rheumatology clinics
• Familiarity with rheumatology-related labs, imaging, and chronic disease documentation
• Experience working alongside in-person scribes or multi-scribe teams
• Outpatient or ambulatory care background
