We are a leading Canadian specialty retailer providing comprehensive imaging solutions and expert advice to photographers, videographers, and content creators. We specialize in sales, rentals, and professional services across a national network of retail locations and a robust e-commerce platform, ensuring our community has access to the best gear and technical support.
Role Summary
This is a Full-time creative partner to the Marketing and E-commerce teams, responsible for concept, design, and delivery of all customer-facing creative across digital, paid, email, web, and in-store.
Key Responsibilities
-Concept and creative direction. Ideate concepts for campaigns, promotions, and brand storytelling rooted in Henry's brand pillars (Right Gear. Real Expertise. Trusted Services – overarching Inspirational).
-E-commerce and digital. Design banners, landing page banners/ tiles, product visuals, category page banners/tiles, lifecycle and transactional email templates for Klaviyo, and on-site merchandising assets.
-Paid media. Build static and motion creative for Meta and Google, display, affiliate, and YouTube. Adapt creative across required ad specs, sizes, and formats. Produce variants for testing.
-Retail, events, and in-store. Develop assets for store events, in-store signage and POS for 19 retail locations, workshops, vendor activations, trade-in, and services campaigns.
-Vendor co-op. execute vendor co-op campaigns (Fujifilm, Sony, Nikon, Canon, DJI, Panasonic, Gentec) within their brand guidelines while maintaining Henry's brand identity.
-Asset management and distribution. Own the creative library. Establish naming conventions, version control, tagging, and a single source of truth for all final and working files. Distribute assets to internal teams and external partners on request.
-Agency and partner liaison. Package and brief creative to external agencies and partners (Adcore, vendors, print suppliers). Quality-check returned assets against brand standards.
-Brand stewardship. Steward Henry's brand guidelines. Build and maintain templates, design systems, and master files that scale across the team.
Required Skills & Qualifications
-Software. Adobe Creative Suite (Photoshop, Illustrator, InDesign), Figma, and a working knowledge of After Effects and Premiere Pro for motion and short-form video.
-Code-literate design. Hand-coded HTML and CSS for email (Klaviyo) and landing pages. Understands responsive design, dark mode rendering, and email client quirks.
-Paid media specs. Strong grasp of paid social and display ad specs (Meta, Google Display, YouTube, programmatic IAB sizes), file weight limits, and platform best practices.
-Motion and short-form video. Can move from concept to motion-ready creative for Reels, TikTok, YouTube Shorts, and paid social. Storyboarding and basic animation.
-Photo and image production. Retouching, colour correction, cropping, and preparing product photography for web, paid, and print. Familiar with working from a real-creator content library (Henry's does not use AI imagery).
-Print production. CMYK workflows, bleed and trim, file prep for in-store signage, large-format POS, and print suppliers.
-Accessibility. WCAG basics, alt text discipline, colour contrast, and inclusive design across all customer-facing assets.
-Working style. Strong concept thinker, fast on turnarounds, organized, detail-oriented, and comfortable balancing always-on requests with longer-lead campaign work in a lean team.
Nice to Have
-Photography or videography skills, or genuine interest in the camera and content creation category.
-Familiarity with Shopify (Henry's Photo Centre is migrating to Shopify plus Mediaclip).
-Experience designing for retail or specialty e-commerce.
-Illustration or 3D capability.
