Virtual Medical Assistant for Telehealth Consultations

Overview

Key responsibilities

• Manage and maintain patient records and information accurately, securely and timely.
• Coordinate, schedules and manage patient appointments
• Answer and screen phone calls and emails
• Assist with transcription, data entry, and document management
• Facilitate virtual communication between patients and medical staff
• Execute administrative tasks to ensure the smooth operation and delivery of vital services to patients
• Keep abreast of and adhere to industry regulations and standards
• Conduct online medical consultations with patients via phone or video calls.
• Assist the Nurse Practitioner in providing care and addressing patient inquiries and other concerns.
• Assess patient symptoms, offer clinical guidance, and recommend appropriate next steps.
• Educate patients on self-care and medication management.
• Maintain accurate and detailed patient records.
• Collaborate with the healthcare team to ensure continuity of care.

Required qualifications

• Proven experience as a Medical Assistant or in a related administrative role
• Proficiency with medical terminology and documentation
• Excellent oral communication skills with a neutral American accent.
• Strong organizational and time management abilities
• Knowledge of medical billing and insurance procedures
• Ability to handle sensitive and confidential information with discretion
• Proficiency with healthcare software and online communication tools
• Attention to detail and accuracy in all tasks
• Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced and dynamic medical environment
• Knowledge of telehealth and virtual medical support
