Job Description - Residential Draftsman

Residential Draftsman
Specialist Australian Design and Drafting Firm

Position Overview:
We are seeking a detail-oriented and motivated Draftsman with at least 2 years of relevant experience to work with our Australian client. The ideal candidate will be proficient in Revit and CAD software and capable of
producing accurate and high-quality residential plans. Experience with rendering tools such as Enscape (or similar) is highly desirable.

Key Responsibilities:

Produce accurate and comprehensive residential design drawings, including floor plans, elevations, sections, site plans, and details, suitable for council submission and construction.
Collaborate with designers and other team members to translate design concepts into technical documentation.
Use Revit and CAD tools efficiently to develop models and drawings that meet project specifications, timelines, and compliance standards.
Generate high-quality 3D visualizations and renders using Enscape or similar tools to assist with client presentations and design approvals.
Apply knowledge of Australian residential building codes, planning regulations, and construction standards throughout the drafting process.
Revise and update plans as needed, incorporating client feedback and changes to scope or design.
Maintain accurate records and organize project files systematically for efficient access and version control.
Contribute to quality control by reviewing drawings for completeness, accuracy, and compliance prior to submission or handover.

Key Requirements:

Minimum of 2 years drafting experience, ideally in residential design.
Relevant education and qualifications in drafting or a related field.
Proficiency in Revit software.
Experience using Enscape or similar rendering tools.
Attention to detail and ability to interpret architectural sketches and concepts.
Good communication and time-management skills.
Ability to work independently and manage multiple drafting tasks.
Knowledge of Australian residential building standards and regulations desirable.
