Specific Duties & Responsibilities :

1. Ensures company’s compliance to government’s environmental and operational requirements.
2. Implements, coordinates, monitors and reviews OHSES programs, directives and procedures.
3. Assists OHSES Manager in auditing the plant regularly for compliance to Environment, Health, Safety and Security rules and standards
4. Monitors and guides activities pertaining to the installation or construction of pollution control facilities to make sure that the company is in compliance with the air, noise and water quality standards set forth by the government.
5. Guides and assists the employees of the entire company in Environment, Health, Safety and Security related issues.
6. Assists OHSES Manager in overseeing the correct and timely implementation of corrective / preventive measures related to accidents and incidents.
7. Initiates and conducts Environment, Health, Safety and Security related trainings, workshops and conferences to keep employees abreast on OHSES issues.
8. Conducts orientation and training for contractors and others related personnel.
9. Coaches employees on Environment, Health, Safety and Security as they conduct their work.
10. Ensures that Environment, Health, Safety and Security initiated by the company are in accordance and tied up with national standards, i.e., ISO, OSHAS, etc.
11. Monitors and analyzes nature of work related illnesses and accidents to determine root causes and implement preventive and corrective actions.

12. Recommends improvement on facilities and practices to ensure a safe and healthy work environment.
13. Ensures smooth operation and periodic maintenance of all pollution control facilities
14. Notifies Department of Environment and Natural Resources (DENR) and Laguna Lake Development Authority (LLDA) breakdown of any pollution control facilities
15. Prompt and periodic submission of governmental reports to concerned government agencies, such as but not limited to DENR, LLDA, Department of Labor and Employment (DOLE)
16. Close coordination with government bureaus and other similar industries to ensure compliance to new rules and regulations, inventions, practices and applications that may affect business operations
17. Liaise with the Local Government Unit or local Pollution Control Officer’s to be abreast with the new rules and regulations.
18. Represents the company in hearings, meetings, forums set by government agencies. And provide assistance to Government Agencies in the conduct of Safety, Health and Environment inspection, accident investigation or any other related programs.
19. Recommend to the management the installation, purchase and modification of pollution abatement equipment / devices
20. Performs other function as may be required from time to time

Job Qualifications:

Graduate of either Chemical Engineering or Chemistry, or its equivalent.
Safety Practitioner with minimum of three years of experience as Pollution Control Officer, preferably acquired in a manufacturing set-up
An accredited Pollution Control Officer.
With good problem solving and analysis skills
With supervisory and handling people skills.
With trainings on ISO standards and trainings on Environment, Health and Safety aspects.
