The Supply Chain Planning and Operations Manager is responsible for the end to end planning and execution of Supply Chain Operations, ensuring the seamless flow of live hog sales and transfers,raw materials, and finished goods to meet market demands efficiently. This role oversees demand and supply planning, inventory management, production coordination, logistics and order fulfillment while ensuring operational excellence, cost optimization and compliance to support business objectives and ensuring high customer satisfaction.
He / She plays a crucial role in developing and maintaining good relationships with co-Supply Chain departments namely Planning and Governance, Production and Transport.
1. Demand and Supply Planning
Develop and implement a robust demand planning process to ensure accurate forecasting of live hogs and meat products.
Work closely with Sales, Marketing, and Operations teams to align demand forecasts with business objectives.
Align supply planning with production schedules, market demand, and inventory availability to prevent shortages or overstocking.
Analyze historical data, market trends, and customer orders to optimize inventory turnover and production efficiency.
Establish collaborative planning processes with Sales, Production, and Procurement teams for demand-supply synchronization.
Identify and mitigate potential supply-demand imbalances by adjusting forecasts dynamically.
2. Production Planning and Inventory Control
Coordinate with operations to ensure efficient production scheduling, aligning with demand forecasts and customer order requirements for optimal fulfillment.
Maintain inventory accuracy by implementing strong tracking mechanisms and monitoring raw materials and finished goods movement to meet operational needs.
Optimize stock levels through FIFO/FEFO principles and minimize waste or spoilage.
Establish clear inventory governance and reporting to track stock discrepancies and corrective actions.
3. Live Hog Supply and Logistics Management
Manage the supply and transfer of live hogs from farms to Meats/TMM, ensuring efficient logistics and minimal waste.
Facilitate coordination and monitoring of live hog supply with Farm Operations to ensure timely availability.
Work closely with farms, procurement, and logistics teams to streamline supply chain operations and enhance overall efficiency.
4. Stock Transfer and Customer Order Management
Oversee the end-to-end order management process, ensuring efficient processing, allocation and fulfillment of both live hogs and meat products.
Ensure seamless collaboration between sales, production, and logistics to fulfill customer requirements and delivery commitments.
Optimize the order-to-delivery cycle by minimizing lead times and improving service levels.
Monitor order accuracy, delays, and manage delivery timelines to maintain high levels of customer satisfaction.
5. Cross-Functional Coordination & Stakeholder Engagement
Collaborate with Sales, Procurement, Production, Logistics, and Finance to ensure end-to-end supply chain efficiency.
Monitor and adjust supply plans based on market fluctuations, production constraints, and logistics challenges.
Communicate key supply chain insights and recommendations to senior leadership for strategic decision-making
Education:
Requirements Bachelor's degree in Business, Engineering, Operations Management, Lean Manufacturing or a related field.
Experience:
7+ years working in a variety of roles in a manufacturing organization, including experience in some or all of these areas: Operations. Supply Chain, Procurement Customer Service. Commercial Sales
5+ years of experience in a leadership role
Prior experience leading scheduling/planning transformation is strongly preferred
