As a SECURITY ENGINEERING TECHNICAL LEAD, you will be responsible for implementing and maintaining the technical security controls that our Cyber Team rely upon to protect Inchcape. This will include working with our Security Architect to implement new technical security services, and working closely with our SOC and Threat teams to ensure existing controls are optimally configured to mitigate new and existing threats. You will also ensure controls are configured in line with our Security Standards and work with our GRC team to mitigate any risks associated with these tools.
The role will also require you to work with our IT Operations team to ensure our controls are not impacting day-to-day business operations and ensure any IT incidents linked to our controls are promptly resolved. You will also be required to support and mentor our more junior Security Engineers.
What you’ll do
- Implement and deploy new technical security controls
- Manage and support day-to-day operations of security tools and platforms
- Optimize security controls to defend against emerging and existing threats
- Troubleshoot and resolve technical issues, working closely with IT Operations
- Ensure controls comply with internal security standards and support GRC risk mitigation
- Produce and maintain documentation, procedures, and operational reports
- Monitor performance metrics such as availability, utilization, and effectiveness
- Collaborate with SOC and Threat teams to continuously improve security posture
- Provide technical leadership during major incidents
- Mentor and support junior security engineers
About you
- Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field
- 7+ years of experience in cybersecurity operations, engineering, or a similar role
- Hands-on experience deploying, administering, and optimizing EDR/XDR platforms
- Experience managing and fine-tuning email security solutions
- Strong knowledge of IPS/IDS, WAF, and SASE technologies
- Experience with Identity and Access Management (IAM) and Privileged Access Management (PAM) platforms
- Experience using SIEM and SOAR technologies
- Ability to develop and implement security automation workflows
- Experience securing Active Directory environments
- Experience reviewing cloud architectures and identifying security risks and gaps
- Relevant certifications such as CISSP, OSCP, GIAC, or cloud security certifications are an advantage but not required
- Proven ability to mentor and support technical team members across different experience levels
- Self-driven, with the ability to design and recommend solutions independently with minimal supervision
