The Role

About the Role

They are seeking a highly motivated and experienced Senior Accountant to join their Australian accounting team. The successful candidate will be responsible for performing a wide range of business services assignments, with a significant degree of autonomy. The role is focused on both tax and accounting services, however requires the ability and knowledge to complete Self-Managed Superannuation Fund (SMSF) work.

Key Accountabilities:-

• Business Services: Responsible for a range of tasks, including financial statements, tax returns, bookkeeping, business activity statements, company secretarial, and tax planning
• They use Xero to complete financial statements and tax returns. Experience using this software is required
• SMSF: 4+ years in completing SMSF work, using BGL software. You must have significant technical knowledge of SMSF work
• The successful candidate will be expected to meet set deadlines, perform tasks in a timely manner, and have strong technical accounting skills
• Meet Productivity Expectations of 90% utilisations on a weekly basis
• Meet Job Profitability Expectations: Each engagement is to be completed in the hours allocated by Manager/Partner for job completion, with an expectation of a 95% or higher recovery rate

Ideal Profile

• You have at least 5 years experience within a Accountant (General Ledger) role, ideally within the IT Services industry.
• You have working knowledge of XERO and SMSF
• You are a strong networker & relationship builder
• You possess strong analytical skills and are comfortable dealing with numerical data
• You are adaptable and thrive in changing environments
