About the Role


The Senior QA Automation Engineer is a senior technical role responsible for leading quality assurance activities within the Manila Enterprise QA team (EQA), as part of a broader global QA organisation. The role combines deep hands-on QA expertise with team leadership responsibilities, providing guidance and direction to a local team of QA engineers across multiple product domains including Core Player Experience, iGaming, and Sports.


The Senior QA Automation Engineer will contribute to the global test strategy, drive the adoption of automation (including hands-on framework development) and champion AI-powered testing practices, acting as the go-to technical QA reference and decision-maker within the EQA Manila team. 


The EQA team is an enterprise squad focused primarily on integration, regulatory and E2E testing, ensuring the full product works seamlessly from the player's perspective — covering functional, marketing, operational, and data flows. The team also acts as a flexible resource to support other squads across the organisation during periods of increased demand.


The Manila EQA team operates as part of a distributed global organisation, working closely with teams across CET-based offices.


The role sits at the heart of our 2026 transformation: AI as how the team works (not a side initiative), a Generative culture where quality risks are surfaced early and failures lead to inquiry, and Manila as a strategic capability investment — not just a location.


 


What You'll Do




  • Lead the day-to-day testing of the Manila EQA team, ensuring alignment with global QA standards and delivery timelines




  • Provide hands-on technical leadership — still in the code and the tests, leading from the front




  • Contribute to the global test strategy under the direction of the Head of QA, ensuring Manila's delivery context is appropriately represented




  • Design, develop, and maintain test automation frameworks, with potential to build frameworks from the ground up




  • Drive AI adoption as the way the EQA team operates — make AI-assisted test generation, defect prediction, visual AI testing, and LLM-based testing approaches part of the standard QA workflow




  • Integrate automated test suites into CI/CD pipelines using tools such as Jenkins, GoCD, and GitLab CI




  • Work across multiple product domains — iGaming, CPE, and Sports — ensuring appropriate quality coverage at each stage of the development lifecycle




  • Collaborate with other EQA members, testing and driving regulatory, integration and end-to-end testing for our different programmes.




  • Mentor and coach QA engineers within the Manila team, and potentially other EQA members, developing engineers who go on to operate at higher levels; building a team where people own their own growth




  • Collaborate with QA leads, engineering teams, and product stakeholders across different offices to maintain consistent quality practices across the group




  • Monitor and evaluate emerging trends in QA, automation, and AI, and make evidence-based recommendations for adoption




  • Manage QA as an engineering problem. Track and act on defect escape rate, change failure rate, test cycle time, flakiness, and automation coverage. Treat quality metrics as feedback loops, not dashboards.




  • Build a Generative QA culture: psychological safety to raise quality risks early, failures lead to inquiry not blame, novelty (new tools, new techniques) is encouraged and shared. Have difficult conversations early.




  • Help scale the EQA function as part of the 2026 Manila Scale programme: knowledge transfer, standardised quality frameworks, and capacity growth that strengthens the global QA organisation.




What You Bring




  • Minimum 5 years of experience in QA engineering within complex, multi-product or multi-domain environments




  • Strong experience on regulatory, integration and E2E testing, performing testing across full site and backoffice tools functionality.




  • Demonstrated experience in senior QA capacity, with responsibility for leading a team’s testing activities




  • Strong proficiency in test automation, with hands-on experience in Java or Python; JavaScript will also be considered




  • Proven experience designing and building test automation frameworks




  • Hands-on practical experience using AI tools in daily QA work, with a track record of driving adoption across a team




  • Solid experience with CI/CD integration and pipeline tooling (Jenkins, GoCD, GitLab CI or equivalent)




  • Strong communication and cross-functional collaboration skills, with the ability to work effectively across time zones; comfortable having difficult conversations early — raising quality risks, pushing back on release decisions, escalating without theatre




  • Experience working within or alongside offshore/nearshore delivery teams supporting a central QA organisation





Desirable Skills & Experience




  • Industry experience in iGaming, Sports Betting, or a similarly regulated, fast-paced digital product environment




  • ISTQB certification or equivalent recognised QA qualification




  • Experience testing AI-powered or LLM-based product features




  • Background in performance, security, or accessibility testing




  • Experience in people management or formal team leadership




 


Work hours: 10:00 AM to 7:00 PM or 11:00 AM to 8:00 PM Philippine Time


Work set-up: Hybrid (2x/week onsite in Mandaluyong)
