Workato is seeking an exceptional Senior Sales Compensation Analyst to join our growing team. In this role, you will administer compensation for employees on variable compensation plans and play a key part in ensuring the accuracy, compliance, and effectiveness of our sales compensation programs.


Key Responsibilities:



  • Assist in the administration of compensation programs within current and future ICM tools and/or processes

  • Develop and document compensation procedures to streamline processes and ensure compliance with regulatory requirements

  • Manage and understand all commission plans according to documented sales plans; ensure compensation is properly accounted for and settled in the appropriate timeframes

  • Manage the accuracy of commission expense outputs, reconciliations, adjustments, and commission modifications

  • Ensure accuracy of data and inputs within ICM tools and through manual audit processes

  • Work with auditors to provide commission documentation requests, including complex manual calculations

  • Support the sales team by resolving commission payment inquiries and disputes in a timely manner

  • Maintain a deep understanding of existing and future tools and platforms, including source data (Salesforce, Snowflake)

  • Develop commission communication materials; train sales and field operations teams regarding commission calculations and policy including changes

  • Proactively identify issues and recommend new programs and process improvements

  • Conduct what-if scenarios and assumptions for commission expense calculations to support monthly accruals and forecasting

  • Communicate effectively, both written and orally, to satisfy commission requests with high understanding of current processes and inquiry resolution

  • Partner with GTM Sales Compensation Management in modeling, developing, and modifying sales commission plans and Rules of Engagement

  • Analyze sales compensation performance and effectiveness

  • Handle ad hoc reporting requests supporting Compensation and other team initiatives (e.g., turnover, headcount, diversity reporting)


Qualifications / Experience / Technical Skills:



  • Bachelor’s degree in Human Resources, Finance, or related field, or equivalent training/experience

  • Commission systems experience required (must be able to enter new hires, update employees, pull reports, update commissions system, and perform monthly audits)

  • CaptivateIQ Admin experience is a plus; ICM tool admin certification highly preferred

  • 3–5 years of Sales Compensation experience working with multifaceted, complex plans

  • Experience in hyper-growth environments with the ability to switch context regularly

  • Experience with implementation and daily maintenance of an ICM tool is preferred


Soft Skills / Personal Characteristics:



  • Strong analytical skills with attention to detail

  • Excellent interpersonal skills; able to work with all levels of management

  • Ability to produce reports and analytical presentations with oversight from the hiring manager

  • Ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously and meet deadlines

  • Strong negotiation and influence skills

  • Ability to work well remotely and with minimal supervision

  • Ability to maintain highly confidential information

  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills; able to respond with kindness, promptness, and accuracy

  • Strong proficiency with MS Office, specifically Excel (complex formula experience preferred)
