Signal & Strand – Managed Workday Services
Signal & Strand is hiring an elite-level Senior Workday HCM Architect to join our expanding Managed Workday Services offering. This is a high-impact, senior technical role supporting multiple client tenants with deep Workday HCM expertise across configuration, integrations, reporting, automation, and system architecture.
You will own end-to-end solution design and serve as the Workday HCM authority—building advanced calculated fields, complex business processes, robust integrations, scalable security models, and enterprise-grade reporting frameworks.

Architect, configure, and optimize all major HCM modules, including:
HCM Core
Compensation
Talent & Performance
Benefits
Absence / Time Tracking
Recruiting
Workday Help / Case Management (optional)
Build advanced business processes, sub-processes, routing logic, and conditional logic across modules.
Create complex calculated fields, advanced conditional logic, and reusable reporting frameworks.
Build Matrix, Composite, Advanced, BIRT, and dashboard reports for HR, Finance, and executives.
Support data transformations and analytics through Workday Prism and optimized datasets.
Architect and build complex integrations using:
Workday Studio
EIB
Core Connectors (Benefits, Payroll, HCM)
REST/SOAP APIs
iPaaS/Middleware (MuleSoft, Boomi, etc.)
Lead integration monitoring, error resolution, data loads, and performance tuning for multiple clients.
Architect Workday Security across domains, roles, segmentations, and constrained objects.
Design scalable security frameworks that support data privacy, compliance, and audit requirements.
Lead SOD reviews, audit support, and client-specific governance structures.
Evaluate HCM architecture for gaps, inefficiencies, or misconfigurations and redesign as needed.
Automate manual workflows and create systems that drive employee experience and operational excellence.
Lead version release reviews and recommend new features, tenant configurations, and optimizations.
Serve as the primary technical SME for multiple Workday clients under the managed services model.
Troubleshoot complex technical issues across HCM, reporting, security, and integrations.
Provide advisory guidance, roadmap recommendations, and architectural direction.
7+ years of deep Workday HCM hands-on experience across multiple modules and tenants.
Master-level skills in Calculated Fields, Condition Rules, and Advanced/Composite Report building.
Proven experience architecting complex Workday Studio and Core Connector integrations.
Strong technical fluency with JSON, XML, XSLT, SOAP, REST APIs, and middleware platforms.
Experience owning end-to-end configuration, integrations, and security for Workday HCM.
Ability to manage multiple client tenants with high accuracy, urgency, and quality.
Exceptional problem-solving, debugging, and system diagnostic skills.
Workday HCM Certification(s)
Certifications in Workday Integrations or Studio
Experience in advanced modules (e.g., Talent Optimization, Workday Help, People Experience)
Consulting, AMS, or multi-tenant Workday environment experience
Experience with Workday Extend and Prism Analytics
