Job Description - Solar Energy Sales Engineer


ZigZag is looking for a Solar Energy Sales Engineer to join our team!

About Our Client

Our client is a leading provider of high-performance solar energy solutions, energy storage, and smart home integration. We specialise in delivering customised solar PV systems, battery storage, and EV charging solutions to homeowners, businesses, and commercial property owners across Luzon.

The Role

We are seeking an experienced, high-energy Senior Sales Representative to drive revenue growth in our residential and commercial solar division. This is a hunter-style role focused on closing high-value solar and energy storage deals while mentoring junior team members and contributing to sales strategy.

Key Responsibilities

  • Prospect, consult, and close residential, small-to-medium commercial and large industrial roof-top solar projects (P500K– P20M+).
  • Conduct in-home/in-office consultations, perform shade & energy usage analysis, design customised solar + battery solutions, and present compelling financial proposals (cash, loan, lease/PPA options).
  • Consistently hit or exceed monthly, quarterly, and annual sales quotas (typically 10–20+ closed deals per month depending on average deal size).
  • Build and maintain a robust pipeline through self-generated leads, referrals, canvassing, partnerships, and company- provided leads.
  • Stay current on local incentives, utility rates, net-metering/billing policies, and financing options.
  • Collaborate with design/engineering, permitting, and installation teams to ensure smooth hand-off and exceptional customer experience.
  • Mentor and train junior sales reps; assist in developing sales scripts, objection-handling techniques, and closing strategies.
  • Represent the company at trade shows, home shows, community events, and networking functions.
  • Accurately forecast sales activity and revenue in CRM (Copper).

Qualifications & Requirements

  • 5+ years of proven, high-ticket, in-home and B2B sales experience (solar, roofing, home improvement, HVAC, or similar industries strongly preferred).
  • Documented track record of consistently hitting P50M–P100M+ in annual personal sales volume.
  • Deep knowledge of solar technology, energy storage, financing options, and current incentives.
  • Exceptional presentation, negotiation, and closing skills; comfortable with Board of Director/CEO level presentations.
  • Self-motivated with a strong work ethic; willing to work evenings and Saturdays to accommodate customer schedules.
  • Clean driving record (company vehicle or allowance provided).
  • Proficiency with CRM software and basic proposal tools.
