The day-to-day

  • Lead and manage complex negotiation processes to get favorable agreements for a variety of goods and services, employing strategic tactics to drive substantial cost savings for Zendesk.

  • Complete thorough evaluations of current contracts, carefully pointing out areas that need improvement and putting subtle changes into place to improve the terms and conditions.

  • Coordinate in the development and implementation of complex source-to-pay processes that use innovative strategies to increase cost- and operational-effectiveness across procurement operations.

  • Serve as the primary liaison with Zendesk vendors, fostering strong relationships and ensuring compliance with contractual obligations.

  • Collaborate closely with cross-functional teams, including legal, security, and finance, to create and implement playbooks that facilitate streamlined contract negotiation and execution, ensuring compliance with regulatory requirements and legal standards.

  • Proactively identify and mitigate potential contract risks while also pushing for value-added advantages and cost-savings to maximize Zendesk's spending and drive sustainable business growth.

  • Handle complicated questions and disagreements from internal partners and external vendors using your strong negotiation skills and smart problem-solving skills to reach solutions that are good for everyone

  • Offer support and assistance to purchase requestors at every stage of the purchasing process, ensuring a smooth and efficient experience from start to finish.

Skills and Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in Procurement, Supply Chain Management, or related field.

  • Minimum of 6 years of relevant experience in procurement, strategic sourcing, or contract negotiation.

  • Strong quantitative skills with the ability to analyze complex problems and propose data-driven solutions.

  • Proficiency in Excel and PowerPoint, with experience in conducting rigorous analyses and preparing presentations.

  • In-depth knowledge of procurement regulations, contract documents, and legal specifications.

  • Experience in sourcing, procurement, or consulting is preferred.

  • Excellent communication and networking skills, with the ability to collaborate effectively within cross-functional teams.

  • Demonstrated ability to adapt to a fast-paced environment and adjust priorities accordingly.

  • Exceptional attention to detail and commitment to maintaining high-quality standards.

  • Ability to work effectively both independently and as part of a team, fostering collaboration and cooperation.

  • Flexibility and agility in responding to changing business needs and priorities.

  • Strong relationship-building skills, with experience in maintaining positive interactions with stakeholders across different functions.

  • Customer-centric mindset, with a focus on delivering value and exceeding expectations.

  • Proactive and results-oriented approach to problem-solving and decision-making.
