Job Description - Specialist, Global Sourcing Data Management

Working with an emerging shared services organization, the Global Sourcing Data Management Specialist is responsible for execution of Dover Global Sourcing’s (DGS) data management strategy to ensure the accuracy of system data used by DGS. Working independently, this role is responsible for maintaining, normalizing, and categorizing suppliers master data with accuracy and timeliness. The Specialist will also support data analysis efforts, collaborating cross-functionally to resolve root cause issues, enhance systems and processes, and support implementation of policies with Dover’s Operating Companies (OpCos) globally. This position reports administratively to the Master Data Management Lead and is based in Cebu, Philippines, but will take daily direction from the US-based DGS team. 

Essential Responsibilities:

 

  • Analyze, maintain, and ensure normalization and categorization of supplier data. 

  • Research supplier business details to determine the correct supplier categorization and verify that reliability and accuracy of the information prior updating master data. 

  • Participate in master data clean-up, normalization, categorization, and perform mass updates, if necessary, to existing supplier records. Identify and document continuous improvement opportunities in the data management and related supplier management activities 

  • Coordinate with DGS and OpCo teams to ensure the necessary approvals are obtained before executing updates in supplier master data. 

  • Assess supplier data for discrepancies across operating environments and coordinate with teams to fix.

  • Identify and execute process improvements to increase the accuracy of end-user data. 

  • Analyze the validity of the master data creation requests by ensuring that no viable duplicates of the requested master data exist. Run initiatives coordinating with master data to clean up duplicate data. 

  • Collaborate cross-functionally in analyzing and investigating data integration failures/issues from various ERP systems. 

  • Ensure that the supplier master data is regularly updated and cleansed within the agreed Service Level Agreement (SLA), to provide timely, relevant, and accurate business information for use by all levels of management. 

  • Support ad hoc or by-request reports from the DGS, OpCo, and IT teams. 

  • Ensure full compliance to Internal and External Audits. 

 

Qualifications:

 

  • Bachelor’s degree in any Business-Related Course 

  • Minimum 5 years’ Master Data Management or Data Analytics experience. Degree in information science, data management, computer science or related field preferred 

  • Experience with a major ERP system (i.e. Oracle, SAP etc.) managing data in large ERP systems, Oracle preferred. 

  • Proficiency in using Microsoft Excel (Ex: Pivot tables, VLOOKUP, Charts and Graphs etc.). 

  • Excellent analytical and interpersonal communication skills. 

  • Team player 

  • Strong communication skills 

  • Willing to work on North America time frame as needed.

  • High level of customer focus and ability to always maintain a positive attitude. 

  • High level of proficiency in Microsoft Office products 

  • Ability to solve practical problems and deal with a variety of concrete variables in situations where only limited standardization exists. 

  • Ability to prioritize and multi-task in a fast-paced environment. 

  • Self-directed, positive, and ethical role model able to work with minimal supervision. 

  • Ability to be an effective team member and display initiative. 

  • Ability to always maintain a professional demeanor with suppliers, internal customers, and coworkers; fully observe Dover’s Code of Ethical Conduct, Employee Handbook “Personal Conduct of Employees” policies and ISO Quality System Standards
