Role

The Sports and Recreation Manager manage the overall operations of the Sports & Recreation department, overseeing colleagues, budgeting, planning, and execution of all recreational programs and activities, ensuring guest satisfaction and safety, maintaining equipment and facilities, and developing new programs to enhance the resort's offerings.

Responsibilities

• Ensures the safety of the guests and in any guest-related activity.
• Ensures proper coordination of guests’ activities.
• Reports the plan boat schedule and any other related activities during morning briefing.       
• Monitors sea and weather conditions so as to ensure safe activities such as snorkeling, scuba diving, sailing, and trips away from the island.
• Keeps the Director of Experiences, RM, and the GM aware of the activity status (i.e. introduction of new activities, cancellation of pre-scheduled activities, weather effected activities, or any equipment failures such as boat breakdowns, etc.
• Ensure that the guest assistants are well-informed of any activities that need to be cancelled due to breakdown or breakages immediately.
• Overseeing the functioning and condition (cleanliness and set-up) of Windsurf Hut, Tennis Court, and Dive Shop regularly within the day.
• Ensure that any guest concern and complaints are attended to immediately and communicated to the General Managers and Resort Manager.
• Responsible for the operational and financial performance of the department.
• Ensures that manufacturer’s recommendation on maintenance programs is coordinated with Engineering.

Qualifications

• Has over 5 years of progressive experience in Sports and Recreation operations in resort setting.
• Proven experience in management or supervisory role.
• Strong organizational and multitasking abilities.
• Excellent communication and leadership skills.
• Knowledge of sports rules, recreation programming, and facility safety standards.
• Basic budgeting and administrative skills.
• Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills.
• Ability to work effectively under pressure and manage multiple priorities.
