Structural CAD/BIM Technician (Tekla)

Summary:

We are seeking a skilled Structural CAD/BIM Technician with strong experience in Tekla Structures to join our engineering and detailing team. The ideal candidate will be responsible for producing accurate and detailed 3D models, drawings, and documentation for steel and concrete structures, working closely with structural engineers and project teams to ensure seamless delivery of projects.

Responsibilities:

• Develop detailed 3D models using Tekla Structures for steel, concrete, or precast components.
• Prepare fabrication/shop drawings, general arrangement (GA) drawings, and erection plans.
• Extract accurate material quantities and generate BOMs (Bill of Materials).
• Coordinate with engineers, architects, and other disciplines to ensure model accuracy and integration.
• Perform clash detection and resolve interface issues within the model.
• Maintain model version control and documentation standards.
• Contribute to BIM coordination meetings and assist in 4D/5D integration if required.
• Support continuous improvement in modeling workflows and template standards.

Requirements:

• Diploma or degree in Structural Engineering, Civil Engineering, or a related field.
• 2+ years of hands-on experience with Tekla Structures in a professional setting.
• Proficiency in interpreting structural and architectural drawings.
• Experience with steel detailing, precast, or rebar modeling is an advantage.
• Familiarity with BIM workflows and model coordination practices.
• Knowledge of industry standards such as AISC, Eurocode, BS, etc.
• Good communication and teamwork skills.
• Attention to detail and commitment to producing high-quality deliverables.

Preferred:

• Exposure to Navisworks, Revit, or AutoCAD.

• Experience in 4D construction sequencing and/or quantity take-off.

• Understanding of fabrication processes and CNC outputs.
