Technology Engineer (CAI)

I. JOB DESCRIPTION

• The candidate will be hired as a Systems Engineer – CAI Implementation and shall be based in Metro Manila for Trends HO.

• The candidate may be required to go to travel to various parts of the Philippines depending on the need to perform his/her duty as indicated.

• The candidate is expected to work between 8:30 AM to 6:00 PM based on the company’s regular working hours but maybe requested to extend beyond working hour if need be.

II. DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

• The candidate is expected to act as technical advisor for technical issues involving CAI DWDM/OTN/FTTx Solution and other applicable projects, which are reflected on the implementation request form submitted by the sales team.

• The candidate is expected to install and implement CAI DWDM/OTN/FTTx Solution based on agreed design.

• The candidate is expected to conduct knowledge transfer and trainings that are implementation specific to CAI DWDM/OTN/FTTx Solution and other applicable projects.

• The candidate is expected to conduct project meetings during implementation stages specific to CAI DWDM/OTN/FTTx Solution and other applicable projects.

• The candidate is expected to coordinate and escalate with Principal and sub-contractors for the issues of the of DWDM/OTN/FTTx solution being implemented until resolved.

• The candidate is expected to monitor work and check quality of installation by sub-contractors for DWDM/OTN/FTTx projects as needed

• The candidate is expected to perform installation of Installation Related Materials (IRM) such as but not limited to the following:

1. Fiber Cable Trays/Raceways


2. Power Cable Trays/Raceways


3. Racks


4. Power Distribution Units


5. Fiber and UTP Patch Cords for Intra and Inter rack cabling

• The candidate is expected to effectively coordinate all the technical activities on assigned projects between CAI Systems Engineer, Sub-Contractors, Project Manager, Principal, and clients

• The candidate is expected to implement the plans and the schedule of engineering works accordingly.

• The candidate is expected to display a good level of technical expertise or experience and establish credibility with the customers.

• The candidate is expected to collaborate and work cohesively and effectively with the sales resource team, as well as within CAI TG and other TG.

• The candidate is expected to prepare As-Built documentation.

• The candidate is expected to perform other task assigned by the management team.

III. QUALIFICATIONS

A. Minimum Education

• Bachelor’s degree in Electronics Engineering / Computer Engineering / Information Technology related field of study with a network engineering focus

B. Minimum Experience/Training

• Strong understanding of transport and network infrastructure

• Has the ability to implement, administer, and troubleshoot transport and network infrastructure devices

• Has the knowledge of transport and network infrastructure protocols

• Has experience in handling DWDM/OTN/FTTx

• Basic knowledge in routing and switching

• Has experience in handling different kinds of Optical Test equipment such as but not limited to:

1. Ethernet Testers (1/10/100G or higher)


2. OTDR


3. Optical Power Meters and Light Sources


4. Optical Video Scopes


5. OSA


6. Has experience in using AutoCAD.

C. Competency

• Good installation skills

• Good communication and reporting skills

• A self-starter able to work independently but comfortable working in a team environment

• Ability to work with all levels of staff within and outside the organization

• Dependable and adaptive

IV. WORKING CONDITIONS

• The candidate must be willing to work form good to extreme work area conditions and must be willing to travel to various parts of the Philippines depending on the need to perform his/her duty as indicated.
