Trade Officer

BASIC FUNCTION

Responsible for the countersignature of all Non-LC transactions, such as: Documents Against Payment (DP), Documents Against Acceptance (DA), Open Account (OA), and Direct Remittance/Advance Import Payments, ensuring that processing is in accordance with all regulatory policies.

DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES

Ensures the following:

1. 
   

   All documents received are time-stamped and booked within the day.

   
   


2. 
   

   Documents are properly booked according to the terms of payment.

   
   


3. 
   

   Details are accurately encoded in the system.

   
   


4. 
   

   BSP regulations are complied with.

   
   


5. 
   

   All instructions are retrieved from Outlook and are funded with Treasury before cut-off time.

   
   


6. 
   

   Computations of charges are correct, including those with approved deviation memos.

   
   


7. 
   

   TR bookings have duly accomplished TR forms that are signature-verified and properly signed by the client, with corresponding LC/TR facilities.

   
   


8. 
   

   TR bookings have sufficient fire insurance coverage from an accredited company, covering the booked amount, with premium charges collected as needed.

   
   


9. 
   

   SWIFT messages are properly routed and approved.

   
   


10. 
    

    Cable tracers are acknowledged, and Account Officers (AOs) are advised to follow up on client payments and collect cable charges.

    
    


11. 
    

    Payments are properly received or debited.

    
    


12. 
    

    Daily booking of DP, DA, and OA transactions is communicated to AOs.

    
    


13. 
    

    IOS reports to BSP are submitted accurately within the prescribed cut-off period.

    
    


14. 
    

    AOs are notified of any deficient documentation.
