Overall purpose, duties and responsibilities of the role:
Performs validation of automated process and ensures that the rule engine outcome is complete based on definition. Issue the policy correctly and release an accurate policy contract.
Provide technical assistance to underwriters in junior levels and other business units
Duties and Responsibilities:
- Able to perform underwriting and validation of all lines of individual life and group insurance products
- Perform non-medical, medical and financial risk assessment and evaluation for individual and group life insurance applications
- Perform risk assessment and evaluation for applications up to Total-Sum-At- Risk of up to Php 15 million and up to Total Mortality (TM) rating of 200% and standard and substandard risk for occupation, avocation and territory.
- Perform postpone or decline decision of cases within authority limit with secondary approval of senior or Chief Underwriter except due to occupation, avocation or territory
- Perform Quality Assurance (QA) checks for applications that passed and /failed the straight through underwriting process.
- Issue policies accurately and release correct policy pack
- Perform User-Acceptance-Test (UAT) accurately and within the defined turnaround time
- Process refund of handled cases that are not issued within the defined period or as requested by client
- Participate in the review of UW guidelines and conduct benchmarking as necessary
- Conduct underwriting training for junior levels and other business units
- Liaise with reinsurance partners on underwriting cases
- Perform coordination of medical appointments with medical service providers
- To provide general administrative support and special task or projects for the improvement of New Business Underwriting and/or Operations Department.
