Venture Capital Job - Investment Associate - The Radical Fund

We are seeking an Investment Associate in Jakarta, Indonesia with a passion for evangelizing an inclusive climate transition for Indonesia, building a community of climate entrepreneurs and experts, and investing in, partnering with and supporting founders on their entrepreneurial journeys.

Responsibilities:

• Investment Ecosystem Activation: strengthening our local network in Indonesia – building a robust and inclusive community of founders, angels, VCs, universities, corporates, and other partners, especially those in the climateTech and sustainability spaces in Indonesia. Represent The Radical Fund at industry events and conferences. Mapping and staying abreast of new developments in the ecosystem relevant to Radical (e.g. other innovation players; VCs, university).
• Thesis Development: Stay up to date on the latest trends and developments in the climate tech space, developing insights and thematic notes on key areas of Radical’s mandate to share with the rest of the team through written reports or presentations.
• Deal Sourcing: Identify, generate a pipeline of deals, and evaluate potential investment opportunities in early-stage ventures, technology and founding teams with a climate impact.
• Due Diligence: Conduct technical, market, competitive, and product due diligence on prospective investments, including financial projections and modeling.
• Deal Closing: Support term sheet and deal negotiation with the founders.
• Portfolio Management: Work directly with founders to support them with defining their fundraising strategy, formulating their story, assisting with the creation/review of investment materials and supporting them to raise their next round of funding: defining the founders’ fundraising story/strategy, co-building investor materials (pitch deck, financial model, dataroom), building a pipeline of investors (reviewing their materials and negotiating terms), and assisting with the negotiation of term sheets (helping them understand cap-table dynamics and all things equity-related).

Your Professional Experience & Personal Attributes

• Academic: Bachelors’ degree in engineering, science, finance, accounting, economics, or related field.
• Experience: 3 – 5 yrs of experience in a startup or venture capital environment preferred. However, if you are from another industry, please list the relevant transferable skills that will enable you to be successful in this role.
• Geographic expertise : Deep knowledge of Indonesia startup ecosystem, as well as wider Southeast Asia region
• Soft skills: Excellent analytical, strategic thinking, and communication skills to articulate your investment ideas. Highly organized individual, capable of managing parallel work streams while maintaining an effective workflow and communication systems. Outstanding people skills, humility, hustle, and resilience.
• Personal capital: Strong network among founders and entrepreneurs in Indonesia and a reasonable understanding of the climate tech landscape.
• Language: Fluency in English and Bahasa Indonesia.
