Job Description - Business Development Executive

Our client, a local healthcare company, that is continuously expanding its operations has a diversified product portfolio. They distribute high quality medicines, top-of-the-line medical devices, quality medical supplies, nutraceuticals and veterinary products. They are currently in need of a Business Development Executive to join their team.

Job Purpose:  

The Business Development Executive is responsible for the client's profiling, product presentation, negotiation, and marketing execution on a designated territory assignment.

Job Scope: 

1. Researching the market, identifying prospects, promoting products, making offers, negotiating, closing sales, and ensuring after-sales support. 

2. Creating business plans based on the clients' requirements. 

3. Providing competitive analysis report. 

4. Monthly Business Review presentation.

Duties & Responsibilities:
1. Works with BDM- Business Development Manager to develop proposals that speak to the client's needs, concerns, and objectives. 

2. Secures B2B sales income for pharmaceutical products.

3. Encourages clients in the application of CLIDP (Certificate of Listing of Identical Drug Products) “baby CPR” services for their selected pharmaceutical products. 

4. Approaches prospective B2B clients and maintains client relationships. 

5. Regular update of the Master Clients Lists (MCL) database through profiling. 

6. Creates and updates sales status reports including identified contacts, leads and confirmed sales. 

7. Manages the sales pipeline to assign clients, from acquisition to long term partnership. 

8. Creates strategic proposals to counteract the competitor’s activities. 

9. Executes marketing programs to target clients. 

10. Prepares for and presents during the Monthly Business Review.

Education/Certification: Degree in Pharmacist, or any Medical related course. Board Passers will have an advantage. 

Job Knowledge/ Skills Required:   

  • At least 5 years of sales experience in the pharmaceutical industry.
  • Experience as a District Manager, Senior Medical Representative or Sr Product Specialist is a MUST
  • Possesses a sharp business acumen 
  • Very good communication and interpersonal skills
  • With negotiation skills 
  • Has a vast network in the pharmaceutical or healthcare industry
  • Proficient in MS Office, especially in excel
