Sales Tax Specialist

Required Experience and Education:

• Proficiency with computer and spreadsheet software programs, such as Microsoft Excel.
• Resourceful/innovative/creative—looks for better ways to do things
• Bachelor's degree in Accounting or Finance required (Master’s degree is a plus)
• Experience utilizing sales tax system strongly preferred 

Responsibilities for Sales Tax Compliance Specialist:

• Work with senior team members to become familiar with any necessary U.S. state tax laws
• Ensure compliance with the state sales & use tax laws to address any sales & use tax deficiencies and minimize assessments from sales & use tax audits
• Compliance functions include preparation of state and local Sales and Use Tax returns using Sales Tax Return Software and ensuring all returns are completed and filed timely and accurately
• Review and respond to notices from various taxing authorities
• Prepare and review applications for business licensure requirements
• Reconcile various sales & use tax accounts on monthly, quarterly and annual basis
• Other duties as assigned
