Job Description - Business Intelligence Developer

Position: Business Intelligence Developer

The Business Intelligence (BI) Developer is responsible for assisting the Industrial Business unit in development and continuous management of all relevant analytics. This position will collect, analyze and build data models to measure the impact of initiatives to support strategic business decision making. This position is responsible for working with the business to provide the leaders at all levels with relevant, intuitive, insight-driven information that is directly actionable. The role will become closely integrated with business and build a strong relationship with business leaders. This position will work with multi-national teams in an agile fashion and design and implement actionable reports and dashboards, assisting in designing the broader information landscape available to the business.

The role is accountable for providing quantitative analysis in key areas to support continuous growth and improvement. This position is also accountable for transforming key performance data into actionable insights and directed work and for ensuring the optimal use of the business intelligence tools in support of the business.

Responsibilities:

  • Perform deep dive analyses into specific issues as needed provide insight & recommendations to appropriate parties.
  • Leverage warehoused and real-time SAP & Oracle data to build dashboards and tools useful to the BU leadership
  • Ensure BI tools are fully leveraged to provide the insights needed to drive performance. Interface closely with technology partners to manage analytical environment, acquire data sets and develop production applications.
  • Deliver analyses and provide recommendations to cross-functional business partners that support the Company’s strategic direction, optimal value creation and proper focus of resources.
  • Leverage a variety of tools to present and showcase data such as Excel and Power BI
  • Collaborate directly with the business teams to understand performance drivers and trends in their area, provide insights, make recommendations and interpret new data and results.
  • Proactively identify needs and take initiative to accomplish.
  • Design reports and dashboards for consumption by the business oversee the development for production.
  • Perform pro forma modeling and ad hoc analyses.
  • Document, share and train best practices among team and with business partners.
  • Keep up to date on best visualization practices and dashboard designs.
  • Maintain standardized templates for reports and dashboards.
  • Ensure standardization and consistency of reporting.
  • Define data needs and sources evaluate data quality and work with data services team to extract, transform and load data for analytic discovery projects.
  • Utilize statistical and data visualization packages to recommend approaches to complex business problems.
  • Analyze and communicate the effectiveness of new initiatives draw insights and make performance improvement recommendations based upon the data sources.
  • Use quantitative and qualitative methodologies to draw insights and support the continuous improvement of the business.
  • Analyze initiatives and events utilizing transaction-level data.
  • Ensure that appropriate data-driven reports and customer behavior insight continuously flow to management to help improve quality, reduce cost, enhance the guest experience, and deliver continued growth.

Qualifications:

  • Academic experience in information technology, data sciences, and/or business analytics.
  • Bachelor’s Degree with experience preferred.
  • Working or practical knowledge of diversified manufacturing global environments
  • Experience with SAP, Oracle and Power BI required.
  • 3+ years’ experience in structuring, analyzing, and visualizing large data sets
  • 3+ years of relevant work experience building BI solutions to support performance measurement and process improvement
  • 3+ years’ Experience with Data visualization tools (Tableau, PowerBI)
  • Experience in data transformation tools preferred
  • Advanced MS Excel experience
  • Knowledge of SQL, Python, and/or R is beneficial
  • Experience with Automation/RPA would be beneficial, but not required
  • Experience with JIRA, Confluence and/or other project management and documentation tools is beneficial, but not required
