JOB DESCRIPTION FOR A FRONT-END DEVELOPER Our client is the leading provider of early wildfire detection systems, proven through extensive trials in California and successful commercial implementation in Australia. The system is powered by state-of-the-art deep machine learning algorithms that analyse ground-based camera data and can quickly detect bushfires within minutes. The responsibilities of a Front-end Developer include determining the structure and design of web pages, striking a balance between functional and aesthetic design, and ensuring web design is optimized for smartphones. The successful candidate will help build the client’s best practice process to streamline his workflow and systematize the business. As a Front-end Developer: • Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, or similar discipline is strongly preferred.
• Must have at least 3-5 years of experience as Front-end developer
• Understanding of key design principles.
• Experience with frontend frameworks such as Vue.js, Nuxt.js or React
• Familiarity with CSS preprocessors such as SASS or LESS
• Experience with responsive and adaptive design
• Experience with Git or other version control systems
• Experience with server-side programming languages such as Python or Ruby
• Experience with containerization technologies such as Docker or Kubernetes
• Proficient understanding of web markup, including HTML5, CSS3
• Understanding of server-side CSS.
• Experience with graphic design applications such as Adobe Illustrator.
• Basic understanding of server-side CSS pre-processing platforms, such as LESS and SASS
• Proficient understanding of client-side scripting and JavaScript frameworks, including jQuery
• Proficient understanding of cross-browser compatibility issues and ways to work around them.
• Proficient understanding of code versioning tools, such as Git / Mercurial / SVN
• Basic knowledge of image authoring tools, to be able to crop, resize, or perform small adjustments on an image. Familiarity with tools such as as Gimp or Photoshop is a plus.
• Understanding of SEO principles.
• Good problem-solving skills.

• Analyze and implement the project code

• Analyze users’ needs with designers, QA testers, and other software development team members.
• Coordinate and cooperate with other departments
• Document each stage of the development process for further maintenance
