Job Title: Power BI Business Analyst

Salary Range: 1500 USD to 1800 USD

Schedule: M-F, flexible working hours and overlap of 4 hours for client calls, EST timezone (9am-5pm is the company operating hours)

 We are a Power BI consulting firm focused specifically on supporting financial planning and analysis. We build and market products using the Microsoft Power Platform to support teams involved in financial reporting, business planning, financial management, and analysis.

About the Role We are hiring a Power BI Consultant (Analyst) to build financial reporting and planning tools for our clients (finance teams).

The successful candidate will be able to balance three main categories of work:

Power BI and SQL : the candidate must have strong skills with Power BI (including DAX

and Power Query) and SQL, as they will be building and managing complex financial

reporting and planning solutions for our clients

Financial Analysis : the candidate must be strongly conversant with financial analysis;

they must be very familiar with common financial reports including income statements,

cash flow statements, balance sheets, accounts receivable/payable, and basic

accounting principles

Communication : the candidate must be able to communicate clearly as they will be

engaging with our US-based clients (verbally and written)

Responsibilities:

• Meeting with clients to collect and define requirements for financial reporting and planning solutions
• Building aesthetically appealing, accurate, effective financial reporting and planning solutions using Power BI (and the Microsoft Power Platform)
• Build data modeling solutions (in Power BI, Power Query, SQL) to solve client business reporting and planning needs
• QA Testing, analyzing, and troubleshooting Power BI solutions throughout the project lifecycle
• Demonstrating solutions to clients, incorporating feedback from clients, answering client questions, and guiding the client throughout the project lifecycle
• Reconciling data with source databases to ensure accuracy; reconciling calculations and measures
• Troubleshooting and managing issues with dashboards and similar tools; providing ongoing support for solutions we provide our customers

Requirements

Requirements:

• At least 5 years of relevant experience.
• Above average to excellent communication skills
• Proficient in Power BI, DAX, SQL, and Data Modeling.
• Strong understanding of how businesses analyze cash flow, income statements, and balance sheets.
• Familiarity with financial reporting and its alignment with business objectives.
