About the Software Engineering Manager Role:
As a Software Engineering Manager, you will play a pivotal role in maximising the results of the development organisation. You will manage small teams of engineers, supporting their growth through goal setting, team assignments, and regular one-on-one meetings.

Key Responsibilities:

• Manage a development team, overseeing 1–3 small teams of approximately five members each
• Support growth through goal setting, team assignment, and regular one-on-one meeting
• Identify and resolve both known and yet-unidentified organisational issues
• Balance business and technology needs while committing to the growth of both the business and engineers
• Take responsibility for self- and organisational development, growing in any way necessary
• Take a supportive leadership role and build a self-organised team

To succeed in the Software Engineering Manager role, you must be a supportive leader, and willing to build a self-organised team.

Key Requirements:

• Experience managing a development organisation with at least five years combined experience from these two areas
• Agile and/or Scrum team management experience is preferred
• Experience training engineers is desirable
• Experience teaching, coaching, providing feedback to engineers is advantageous
• Experience improving a development organisation’s performance is beneficial
• Experience hiring for and evaluating a development organisation is favourable
