Job Description - Database Specialist

Department: Revenue Employment Type: Permanent Location: Philippines Description Do you have at least 2.5 years of experience developing solutions with Data & Analytics technologies Do you have experience with building and maintaining ETL/ELT pipelines with or without SnapLogic as part of an automated workflow on high-volume, high-dimensionality data from varying sources. ???? Navigating the position: Database Specialist Embark on an exciting journey with Ocean Technologies as a Database Specialist! In this pivotal role, you'll spearhead the creation and maintenance of our data pipeline architecture, orchestrating seamless integration from a myriad of sources. Your expertise will be instrumental in assembling large, intricate data sets that align with both functional and non-functional business requirements. You'll lead the charge in identifying and implementing internal process improvements, optimizing data delivery, and enhancing infrastructure scalability. With a keen eye for detail, you'll ensure the integrity of our data through rigorous validation and verification processes, while also championing data separation and security in line with best practices. Your responsibilities will extend to developing and maintaining data warehousing approaches, crafting data models, and facilitating smooth data migration. Moreover, you'll play a pivotal role in data mining and analysis, leveraging insights to drive strategic decisions. Your Voyage Ahead: Data Pipeline Management:
Create and maintain optimal data pipeline architecture from multiple data sources.
Build the infrastructure required for optimal extraction, transformation, and loading of data from a wide variety of data sources.
Develop and maintain data warehousing approaches, including modeling and pipelining of data for storage and retrieval.
Process Improvement:
Identify, design, and implement internal process improvements, including automating manual processes, optimizing data delivery, and redesigning infrastructure for greater scalability.
Data Validation and Security:
Ensure robust data validation and verification processes to ensure the correctness of data for reporting.
Keep data separated and secure as per best practice guidelines.
Data Accuracy and Collaboration:
Assemble large, complex data sets that meet functional/non-functional business requirements.
Ensure that the data taken from the information sources is accurate, liaising with other business functions when necessary.
Technology and Documentation:
Proactively keep up to date with the latest cloud data technology.
Produce supporting documentation, such as specifications, data models, and relations between data and other data objects, required for the effective development, usage, and communication of the data operations solutions with different business units.
Data Export and Integration:
Provide data exports for customer verification and sunsetting customers.
Provide data exports as seed data for systems integration (e.g., OLP).
Data Analysis:
Conduct data mining and analysis.
Document Migration:
Handle documents migration.
???? Recommended to bring on board:  MUST HAVE
Experience with building and maintaining ETL/ELT pipelines as part of an automated workflow on high-volume, high-dimensional data from varying sources.
Good understanding on how data management, cleansing and query optimisation influences pipeline and data model design.
Experience working with databases on-premises and/or cloud-based environments such as MSSQL, MySQL, PostgreSQL, SQL Azure, Aurora MySQL etc.
Demonstrate strong problem-solving skills to help design and implement solutions to data problems.
Highly numerate and logical
Ability to clearly communicate and present outputs to stakeholders.
Experience of working in fast paced environments to strict deadlines.
Team player and can communicate effectively to technical and non-technical colleagues.
Passionate about continuous improvement, collaboration and knowledge sharing at all levels.
The ability to manage time, prioritise tasks, self-review your work and produce deliverables of a high quality under tight client deadlines in time pressured environments.
NICE TO HAVE
Experience with SnapLogic
Experience using cloud technologies (AWS preferred)
Experience with scripting languages (e. g. Java Script, C#)
Modelling datasets in a way applicable for use in different visualisation tools (e. g. PowerBI)
Strong stakeholder management skills
Experience working with REST API.
