Job Description

We are looking for a detail-oriented and organized On-the-job trainee (OJT) who will learn essential work skills by performing real tasks in Accounting – Accounts Payable under the guidance of an Senior AP Assistant.

Learning and Active Participation:

• Shadow mentor: Observe experienced AP Assistant to understand daily workflows, standard procedures, and quality expectations.
• Complete assigned tasks: Practice AP job responsibilities under direct supervision before moving to independent work.
• Participate in feedback loops: Listen to constructive feedback from trainers and apply corrections immediately to improve performance.
• Track progress: Maintain training logs, checklists, or portfolios required by the employer or an educational institution.

What you’ll be doing:

• Verify straight forward supplier’s invoices in AX (Garrets tool with restrictions to verifying invoices only)
• Posting of invoice stock corrections.
• Clear invoices stuck in readsoft (Garrets tool).
• Ask for statement of account from vendors.
• Follow-up on missing vendor statements.
• Attend/participate in the formal and face-to-face training process.
• Abide by the policies and procedures outlined by Garrets.
• Complete tasks, assessments, assignments, etc.,
• Keep and update progress on a copy of the training plan/record.
• If the trainee is under 18, a parent or guardian must co-sign the training contract.

What we're looking for:

• Basic knowledge of Microsoft Office - including Excel
• Familiar with finance process
• Business level communication in English, both written and spoken
• Currently studying university degree or similar within Finance / Accounting/Business Administration
• Driven by the field of Finance with a business mindset
• Ability to collaboratively work in a diverse, cross-functional and international environment

Requirements:

• Good moral character
• Endorsement from the school dean/head
