Senior Accountant

Your responsibilities

• Working as a key accountant role delivering services to the local business units and group
• Ensuring accounting quality and timeliness in own responsibility area
• Collaborating with other service teams, accounting experts and business representatives
• Contributing to system development in co-operation with IT and process responsible persons
• Supporting the project team to establish the new team, roles and new ways of working as well as setting up the processes Developing the service model based on the requirements of Fortum Business and corporate

Our requirements

• Applicable university degree in accounting or finance
• Work experience in using Oracle Netsuite accounting functionalities
• Solid understanding of general accounting principles and rules
• Strong financial process and operative experience in accounting area
• Positive mindset and hands-on attitude to problem solving
• Excellent collaboration and communication skills in English

About the role

The Expert / Senior Accountant role would offer you exiting opportunity to be part of building a new global accounting team in Gdansk and develop new ways of working. Within Fortum Financial Services Unit we are planning to build a new accounting team in Gdansk to offer accounting services to Fortum business entities in global aspect . We use modern cloud based accounting system Oracle NetSuite to provide the services. Role involves collaboration with Fortum finance stakeholders and third-party accounting experts e.g. in statutory reporting. We are looking for a person for acting in a key role for delivering high quality services and participating to the project to support in building the new team and processes.
