Assistant Manager

Key Responsibilities

Asset Lifecycle Management

• Establish and manage the full asset lifecycle (plan → procure → receive → deploy → maintain → reassign → retire/dispose).


• Maintain an accurate and complete CMDB/Asset Register with ownership, locations, warranties, SLAs, and relationships.


• Standardize asset tagging, barcoding/RFID, and asset labelling practices.

Software & License Management (SAM)

• Govern software licensing compliance across OS, SaaS, on‑prem, and cloud subscriptions.


• Maintain ELP (Effective License Position) and ensure adherence to EULAs; coordinate true‑ups and vendor audits.


• Identify and eliminate shelfware/duplicate tools; manage renewals and terminations.

Governance, Risk & Compliance

• Define and enforce ITAM policies, standards, and SOPs (including joins/moves/leaves, refresh, and disposal).


• Ensure secure data sanitization and environmentally compliant disposal (e‑waste) with certificates of destruction.


• Partner with InfoSec for asset baselining, vulnerability exposure, and endpoint hygiene.

Financial Management & Optimization

• Collaborate with Finance/Procurement on budgeting, forecasting, TCO tracking, and cost allocation (CapEx/OpEx).


• Drive optimization initiatives (e.g., lease vs. buy, consolidation, right‑sizing, auto‑deprovisioning).


• Track warranties, AMC, and maintenance contracts; avoid coverage gaps.

Operations & Inventory Control

• Oversee stock levels, spares, buffer policies, and RMA processes.


• Lead periodic physical audits, cycle counts, and reconciliation across sites/warehouses.


• Ensure timely provisioning and de‑provisioning aligned to SLA/OLA.

Vendor & Stakeholder Management

• Manage relationships with OEMs, resellers, and managed service providers (MSPs).


• Negotiate commercial terms, renewals, and volume discounts.


• Act as the central point for ITAM queries across IT, HR, Finance, and Audit.

Reporting & Analytics

• Publish dashboards and KPI reports (utilization, compliance, renewal calendar, audit findings, aging, variance).


• Provide executive insights and recommendations for cost avoidance and risk mitigation.

Required Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Information Technology, Computer Science, Engineering, or related field.


• 8+ years of experience in IT Asset Management/IT Operations with hands‑on ownership of ITAM/SAM.


• Strong knowledge of ITAM frameworks (e.g., ITIL, ISO 19770, ISO 27001 controls relevant to asset management).


• Experience with ITSM/ITAM tools (e.g., ServiceNow, Freshservice, ManageEngine, Lansweeper, Flexera, Snow, SCCM/Intune/JAMF).


• Proven experience with software licensing (Microsoft, Adobe, Autodesk, Oracle, VMware, etc.) and SaaS management.


• Advanced Excel/Sheets and reporting skills; familiarity with Power BI/Tableau is a plus.

Preferred Certifications (Good to Have)

• ITIL v3/v4 Foundation


• Certified IT Asset Manager (CITAM) / CSAM (IAITAM)


• Microsoft Licensing Specialist / SAM certifications


• ISO 19770 familiarity
