Location: Europe (Budapest - Hungary/Warsaw - Poland/Vienna - Austria/Zagreb - Croatia)

Experience Level: 8–12 Years

Job Description: We are looking for Broadband Router Specialist to join our client's team, a leading telecommunications provider in Europe. The ideal candidate will be responsible for the initial investigation and triage of reported issues, as well as the execution of test plans to validate software functionality and identify defects. You will work closely with development and QA teams to streamline the issue resolution process and contribute to the overall quality assurance efforts.

Key Responsibilities:

Investigate and triage reported issues.
Execute test plans to validate software functionality and identify defects.
Collaborate with development and QA teams to resolve issues efficiently.
Analyze logs, network data, and system dumps to diagnose problems.
Participate in release validation and monitoring.
Apply scripting for automation to improve triage and testing processes.
Perform in-depth debugging using tools like valgrind, gdb, tracetool, and RDKB loggers.
Analyse system logs and crash dumps to identify root causes .
Reproduce and isolate issues in lab environments using routers and test setups.
Document triage workflows, known issues, and resolutions for knowledge sharing.

Must Haves:

Strong proficiency in Linux system internals, shell scripting, and debugging.
Deep understanding of networking protocols (TCP/IP, DHCP, DNS, NAT, etc.).
Experience with router firmware and RDK-B architecture.
Hands-on with gdb, tracetool, and RDKB logging frameworks.
Expertise in Wi-Fi technologies (802.11ac/ax, DFS, band steering, mesh)..
Exposure to CI/CD pipelines, Git, JIRA and Agile methodologies.

Nice to Haves:

Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with attention to detail.
Experience with GPON, DOCSIS WAN Technologies.
Familiarity with Yocto, OpenWRT, or other embedded Linux build systems
