Position Summary
The Business Development Director & Head of Poland will lead the establishment and growth of the company's business in Poland, with a primary focus on creating commercial opportunities, shaping defense procurement programs, and securing strategic contracts.
This is not primarily an administrative country management role. We are looking for a highly accomplished commercial leader and market builder who can position the company as a trusted defense partner in Poland, develop strategic relationships across government and industry, and establish a sustainable business platform before scaling local operations.
During the initial phase, the role will focus predominantly on business development, stakeholder engagement, market positioning, and strategic partnerships. As the business expands, the Business Development Director & Head of Poland will gradually assume responsibility for local operational activities, including testing, service, logistics, and deployment.
Key Responsibilities
Business Development
Develop demand for the company's capabilities before formal procurement programs are launched.
Shape customer requirements and influence complex defense acquisition processes.
Position the company as a strategic partner for future modernization programs.
Identify and secure flagship reference projects within the Polish defense ecosystem.
Build the Polish business from the ground up, including commercial partnerships and market positioning.
Stakeholder Management
Build and maintain an extensive network within the Polish Ministry of National Defense, Armament Agency, Armed Forces, PGZ, WB Group, and other key industrial and governmental stakeholders.
Develop trusted relationships with decision-makers involved in defense modernization programs.
Requirements
Education
Master's degree in Engineering, Aerospace, Military Technology, Business Administration, International Relations, or a related discipline.
Professional Experience
Extensive experience in business development, strategic sales, capture management or executive leadership within the defense, aerospace or security sectors
Proven record of winning major defense programs and strategic B2G contracts
Demonstrated experience influencing complex government procurement and acquisition processes
Experience selling integrated defense capabilities rather than standalone products
Strong understanding of the Polish defense ecosystem and procurement environment
Existing network of senior relationships across the Polish defense sector is highly desirable
Experience building new markets, partnerships or business operations from the ground up is considered a significant advantage.
