Our Warsaw office is an incredibly exciting addition to our EMEA expansion. We're already in the UK, France, and Germany, and the new Poland location is a global engineering and product development hub alongside our headquarters in Redwood City, California.




Why Box needs you:


Core Experiences is engineering organization responsible for Box’s end-user products focused on Web and Mobile experiences at Box. These include all the key end user experiences like Box Web App, Uploads, Downloads, Sharing, Search, Preview, AI Features and more. As the Manager on the Web team you will be responsible for owning a large surface area and driving the team that is responsible for the team that focusses on building key end user facing features on this team. Some recent example projects on this team include, revamping the UI for the main All Files experience, rebuilding Search and building AI experiences for our end users!


Who you are:



  • Ideally, you have over 2 years of experience as a software engineering manager, leading teams responsible for high-scale production services.

  • You possess at least 5 years of professional software development experience, contributing to the development of full-stack web applications and/or distributed systems.

  • You excel at aligning and executing new technical ideas, demonstrating an understanding of best practices.

  • Proven experience in driving effective execution with agile processes in a dynamic environment.

  • A people-oriented leader, capable of modelling and fostering a collaborative and inclusive culture.

  • Exceptional at communicating, passionate about technology and committed to raising the bar.

  • Experience working with distributed teams across different time zones is advantageous.

  • Proficient in English.


Bonus Points:



  • Hands-on experience designing and building cloud-native architecture for AWS, GCP, or similar.

  • Passion for open source and staying abreast of community developments.


Responsibilities:



  • Lead a team of experienced engineers in Poland.

  • Define the team's roadmap, execution plans, and take ownership of project delivery.

  • Develop team members through 1:1s, career planning, coaching discussions, and hiring.

  • Uphold values by building a collaborative, inclusive team focused on customer impact.

  • Cultivate a culture of excellence through emphasis on execution, quality, and scale.

  • Organize stand-ups, sprint planning, technical discussions, and manage sprint task statuses.

  • Collaborate with product teams to scope new features, provide project estimates, and inform quarterly commitments.

  • Work with cross-functional partners and stakeholders to ensure the team delivers significant business impact.

  • Represent Box internally and externally.

  • Dedication to solving complex problems using data-driven solutions.

  • Belief in deploying all infrastructure as code.

  • Ownership mentality, striving for work that you are proud of, both technically and in team interactions.
