Job Description - Head of Bolt Market, 1P Grocery


  


We’re looking for a Head of Bolt Market to lead our grocery and convenience business across six countries, with ownership of the strategy, operations and P&L needed to deliver outstanding customer value and sustainable growth.   About the role


  


As Head of Bolt Market, you will be the senior leader accountable for the overall success of Bolt Market globally. You will define and drive the strategy, own the business performance, and ensure that we deliver an outstanding customer experience while growing sustainably across all the countries where Bolt Market operates.


You will be responsible for the full Bolt Market value chain – from commercial strategy and category management to supplier partnerships, operations and customer experience. You will work closely with Product, Operations, Marketing, Finance, Legal and local country teams to launch, scale and optimise Bolt Market globally.


You will build and support high-performing teams, establish clear performance standards and operating frameworks, and create the conditions for long-term growth in a fast-paced and competitive environment.


  



 



  Main tasks and responsibilities:


  



  • Define and implement the global vision, strategy and growth plan for Bolt Market, including market penetration, customer acquisition, order volumes and expansion into new grocery and convenience opportunities.

  • Own the full P&L for Bolt Market, ensuring sustainable and profitable growth through disciplined financial planning, revenue optimisation, pricing, cost management and performance tracking.

  •  Build and maintain strong relationships with suppliers, national brands, retailers and strategic partners, leading key negotiations to secure competitive assortment, fair terms and long-term collaboration.

  •  Drive operational excellence across all markets, including inventory management, fulfilment quality, store operations, health & safety compliance and customer experience metrics, supported by clear frameworks and standard operating procedures.

  •  Collaborate with cross-functional teams (Product, Marketing, Operations, Finance, Legal and local country teams) to align plans, launch new initiatives and scale Bolt Market globally.

  •  Build, lead and develop high-performing teams across commercial, operations and supply chain functions, fostering a culture of responsibility, learning, innovation and collaboration.


  



 



  About you:


  



  • You have extensive senior leadership experience as a general manager or head of business in e-commerce, retail, grocery or quick commerce, with clear ownership of business performance and outcomes.

  • You bring strong commercial and strategic capabilities, with a track record of growing businesses, building partnerships and managing P&L.

  •  You build effective relationships and collaborate confidently with senior partners and internal stakeholders across multiple countries, including leading negotiations and complex stakeholder groups.

  • You have an organised and pragmatic operational approach and experience scaling teams, processes and operations in fast-moving, high-growth environments with change and complexity.

  • You are comfortable working with data and use performance metrics, insights and analytics to understand issues, shape strategy and continuously improve customer experience and market performance.

  • You are fluent in English, confident leading remote and onsite cross-functional teams, willing to travel internationally (up to 30%), and any additional local language is a plus.
