International Trade Compliance Specialist

MAIN RESPONSIBILITIES

• Classify products using customs tariff codes and determine country of origin.


• Ensure compliance with international trade, customs, and sanitary/phytosanitary regulations.


• Advise on import/export requirements, including documentation, licenses, and registrations.


• Manage customs procedures, brokerage processes, and trade compliance data in SAP/GTS.


• Screen business partners against sanctions and restricted party lists.


• Support import/export audits and implement corrective actions where needed.


• Collaborate with cross-functional teams including Supply Chain, Regulatory, QA, R&D, Finance, and Customer Service.


• Resolve cross-border issues to minimize financial and operational risks.


• Identify opportunities for process improvements, compliance optimization, and cost savings.

CANDIDATE PROFILE

• Degree in International Trade, Business, Supply Chain, Food Science, Chemistry, or related field.


• Minimum 3 years of experience in international trade, customs, import/export, or trade compliance.


• Good knowledge of EU/US customs regulations and global trade compliance principles.


• Experience in the food industry or food law/sanitary compliance is an advantage.


• Strong systems knowledge, ideally including SAP, GTS, or other ERP platforms.


• Fluent English required; additional European languages are a plus.


• Strong analytical, organizational, and problem-solving skills.


• Excellent communication and stakeholder management abilities.


• Comfortable working in a fast-paced, international environment.
