Job Description - Oracle Database Administrator

We are looking for an Oracle Database Administrator to join an international DBA team supporting large-scale, high-availability database environments within the payments domain. The role focuses on maintaining database stability, performance, and scalability across production systems operating in distributed architectures.

This is a hands-on DBA role requiring strong Oracle expertise, production support experience, and practical knowledge of performance tuning and optimisation in enterprise environments.

Responsibilities

â

â¢ Perform database and SQL performance tuning

â¢ Design, implement, and maintain Oracle database instances

â¢ Conduct root cause analysis of production database issues

â¢ Monitor, maintain, and support database environments on a daily basis

â¢ Work with development teams on data models and database design

â¢ Implement performance and resource optimisation solutions

â¢ Support high availability and reliability of production systems

Requirements

â¢ Minimum 3+ years of experience as an Oracle DBA

â¢ Hands on experience with Oracle databases on Unix/Linux environments

â¢ Strong knowledge of database performance tuning and optimisation

â¢ Experience supporting production environments and resolving issues

â¢ Good understanding of distributed systems and database architecture

â¢ Strong SQL knowledge and database development understanding

â¢ Fluent English communication skills

Nice to have

â

â¢ Experience with high volume OLTP systems

â¢ Experience with large scale databases (terabyte level)

â¢ Knowledge of Data Guard replication

â¢ Strong understanding of Oracle best practices such as schema design, indexing, and query optimisation

â¢ Experience working in global or distributed teams
