Job Description - Payroll Specialist EMEA - Hybrid

Job Description:

Role Overview: 

We are an international Global Business Services (GBS) organization dedicated to providing comprehensive support for business processes across the EMEA region. Situated in the city center, our company serves as a strategic hub for delivering efficient and effective solutions to diverse business needs. 

As a Payroll Specialist, you will be responsible for managing end-to-end payroll processes for Middle East countries, ensuring accuracy and timeliness. The selected candidate will collaborate with payroll providers, provide necessary data, and assist in conducting payroll calculations in compliance with local laws and corporate policies. This role will report directly to the Payroll Team Leader.

Role Responsibilities: 

As a Payroll Specialist, you will be responsible for: 

  • Managing end to end payroll process for Middle East countries (UAE, Turkey) & being back up for EU countries (with the focus on Germany, Switzerland, UK).  

  • Collaborating with payroll provider to ensure accurate and timely payroll processing. 

  • Providing all necessary data to the payroll provider to facilitate the preparation of payroll. 

  • Assisting in conducting payroll calculations, which includes social charges, income tax, holiday pay, severance compensation, and income details, ensuring alignment with local laws, corporate policies, procedures, and goals.  

  • Validating and analysing payroll results to ensure accuracy. 

  • Processing salary, benefits, and other payroll-related payments. 

  • Participating in payroll projects focused on process improvement, standardization, and digitalization. 

  • Maintaining knowledge of labour and social security legislation to ensure compliance. 

  • Preparing cash forecasts and accrual calculations for financial reporting. 

  • Reviewing and validating payroll journal entries, including any necessary recharges. 

  • Understanding HR disciplines and the applications of well-defined techniques and procedures for instance HR activities related to employment. 

  • Ad hoc contacts with relevant authorities, analysing various documents and preparing the adequate replies. 

  • Providing support and guidance to employees, suppliers, and internal stakeholders on payroll-related matters. 

 

Experience and Competencies: 

What we are looking for: 

  • Bachelor’s and/or Master’s degree  

  • Minimum 3 years of experience in payroll administration with the focus on Middle East countries or Germany or Netherlands; knowledge of other countries' payroll systems is a plus  

  • Experience in the cooperation with the payroll provider is a strong plus.  

  • Ability to interpret and apply policies and procedures in alignment with local regulations and organizational objectives. 

  • Experience in transition of payroll from local to global structure and/ or payroll providers change is a plus 

  • Excellent verbal communication skills in English; other languages such as German or Dutch is a plus. 

  • Proficiency in using standard office equipment and software packages. 

  • Strong problem-solving skills to resolve complex payroll queries. 

  • Customer oriented approach. 

  • Ability to work independently with minimal supervision while providing guidance to others when necessary. 

  • Proactive mindset with a strong focus on continuous improvement, the ability to adapt quickly to change, and a talent for out-of-the-box thinking to drive innovative solutions in a dynamic environment.  

  • Ability to handle sensitive information with discretion and professionalism. 

  • Ability to effectively synthesize information from a variety of sources.
