Job Description - Product Designer

ControlUp creates an autonomous workplace where the day runs itself. We’re a leader in DEX, unifying digital employee experience and IT operations into one powerful platform built for modern workplace management. By combining real-time monitoring, automation, and proactive remediation, ControlUp enables IT teams to prevent issues before they impact employees, reduce operational complexity, and streamline IT environments, without the clutter of multiple tools.

With ControlUp, IT works smarter, employees stay productive, and the workday runs itself. One platform. One powerful shift in how work flows. No tool sprawl. No wasted time. No interruptions. Just technology that runs smoothly, so people can get on with work that matters.

The Role:
ControlUp is looking for an experienced Senior Product Designer to help shape the future direction of our platform as part of the Creative team.
As a member of our Creative group, you’ll be immersed in building unified, forward-thinking experiences, collaborating across disciplines, and tackling complex design challenges. In this position, you’ll address sophisticated design problems and turn them into solutions that are intuitive, accessible, and enjoyable to use.
As a Senior Product Designer, you’ll have the influence to impact our product ecosystem, ensuring our offerings truly meet user expectations. If you’re passionate about usability and thrive in cross-functional environments, we look forward to discovering how your skills can elevate our user experience.

Responsibilities in this role include:

    • Designing and refining user funnels and workflows from initial concept through usability testing, iteration, research, interviews, and surveys.
    • Employing strategic design thinking to craft innovative, end-to-end user experiences that balance user needs with business objectives across both web and mobile platforms, while maintaining a broad perspective.
    • Conducting user research to identify pain points and needs, then developing effective UX solutions. Proactively spotting opportunities to improve workflows and collaboration, and leading initiatives to implement these improvements across teams.
    • Producing detailed design deliverables such as vision statements, specifications, wireframes, and prototypes.
    • Working closely on a daily basis with the Design team, Product Managers, and Software Engineers to define and deliver outstanding products.
    • Leading and driving the vision for the next generation of product design.
    • Managing the full UX lifecycle starting from a Product Manager’s brief, including gathering inspiration, competitor analysis, and user research.
    • Coordinating and facilitating usability testing, analytics, and other user research activities with project stakeholders to validate current and future feature designs.
    • Keeping up-to-date with industry trends and best practices, advocating for the adoption of new approaches and ideas within the design process.

About you:

    • Minimum 5 years of experience as a Product Designer working on complex B2B systems and crafting user experiences for both web and mobile platforms—this is essential. Strong problem-solving skills with the ability to propose multiple solutions and distill complex challenges into elegant, well-informed designs.
    • Deep knowledge of user-centered design best practices and trends across web and mobile platforms, along with expertise in usability principles and techniques.
    • Demonstrated ability to design intuitive user interfaces for customer-facing products—mandatory.
    • A mindset focused on innovation and vision.
    • Bachelor’s degree or equivalent professional experience.
    • Proven experience managing the entire UX process, from ideation and wireframing to prototyping, user testing, and incorporating customer feedback.
    • Familiarity with AI technologies is a plus.
    • Experience leading significant UX design projects from concept through maturity, including conducting and analyzing usability tests.
    • Advance English.
    • Excellent communication and organizational skills, with a proven ability to collaborate effectively with team members.
    • Portfolio required.
We may use artificial intelligence (AI) tools to support parts of the hiring process, such as reviewing applications, analyzing resumes, or assessing responses. These tools assist our recruitment team but do not replace human judgment. Final hiring decisions are ultimately made by humans.
