Job Description - Project Management Experience Program

Job Description Summary

The Project Management Experience Program (PMEP) is GE Vernova’s premier development pathway for emerging project professionals seeking to fast track their career in EPC and project delivery. This full time, 2-year program equips participants with practical technical skills, real world field exposure, and the leadership capabilities required to manage complex energy projects across the Gas Power business.

Participants complete 3 rotational assignments, each 8 months long. Two core rotations—Field/Construction and Project Scheduling—provide hands on experience essential to EPC environments. A third rotation is chosen from key disciplines such as Commercial Operations, Sourcing, Contract Management, Finance, Quality, Project Controls, Logistics, Lean, or Project Management.
Graduates of the PMEP move into impactful project management roles, prepared to support customer delivery and contribute to the global energy transition.

Job Description

Key Responsibilities:

Project Execution & Delivery

  • Support project managers in planning, executing, and controlling EPC projects across multiple regions.
  • Participate in field and construction activities, gaining hands‑on understanding of site operations, safety practices, and commissioning workflows.
  • Take part in project scheduling activities—building, maintaining, and learning to analyze project schedules.

Commercial, Financial & Contractual Exposure

  • Assist with project financials, including billing, forecasting, cost tracking, and cash management.
  • Help review contractual obligations, support change management processes, and contribute to risk assessments.

Cross-Functional Collaboration

  • Work with Engineering, Project Controls, Commercial, Quality, Sourcing, Finance, and Legal teams.
  • Support customer communication and documentation across your rotations.

Leadership & Continuous Improvement

  • Contribute to Lean and process improvement initiatives.
  • Lead smaller assignments and support major project milestones.
  • Build professional and leadership skills through training, mentorship, and hands‑on experience.

Essential Requirements

  • Foundational experience in areas such as engineering, project management, operations, construction, commercial roles, supply chain, or similar fields.
  • Interest in fieldwork and hands‑on construction or commissioning environments.
  • Ability and willingness to work in the office for each rotation and on-site at the customer site regularly, depending on rotation needs (locally and internationally)
  • Strong communication and stakeholder management skills.
  • Motivation to learn, adapt, and work across different teams and disciplines.

Nice-to-Have:

  • Exposure to energy, utilities, industrial, construction, or EPC projects.
  • Familiarity with scheduling tools (e.g., Primavera), ERP systems, or project management tools.
  • Experience with customer-facing work or cross-functional collaboration.
  • Certifications such as PRINCE2, PMP, APM PMQ, Lean Six Sigma, or equivalent.

What We Offer:

  • A structured 2‑year development program with three curated rotations.
  • Hands‑on experience in the field, scheduling, and one elective discipline.
  • Dedicated coaching, mentorship, and leadership development.
  • Opportunities to work on high‑impact projects enabling the global energy transition.
  • LPB‑level compensation, annual incentive bonus eligibility, and comprehensive GE benefits.
  • Clear post‑program career pathways within the global GE Vernova Project Management community: Graduate of the PMEP moves into impactful project management role within GE Vernova’s Gas Power business.
