Public Affairs and Government Relations Regional Director (Poland & Ukraine)

Boeing’s Poland and Ukraine Government Affairs team is based in Warsaw, Poland. Its function is to understand and influence public policy and the political landscape in Poland and Ukraine. Working closely with colleagues in the EU and internationally, the position covers a very large portfolio of policy issues of significant importance to Boeing across Boeing’s business divisions (including Commercial, Defense, and Services), including, but not limited to:
- Defense, security, and space
- Environment and sustainability
- Aviation and aerospace industry
- Trade
- Party politics
Hiring details:
- This requisition is for a locally hired position in Poland. Candidates must have current legal authorization to work immediately in Poland. Boeing will not attempt to obtain immigration or labor sponsorship for any applicants. Benefits and pay are determined at the local level and are not part of Boeing U.S.-based payroll.
- This position is expected to be 100% onsite. The selected candidate will be required to work onsite at Warsaw, Poland.
- Occasional travel to domestic and/or international sites may be required.
Position Responsibilities:
- Create and lead market and industry strategies, and evaluate current and potential market- and government-related implications for Boeing business interests.
- Advise the Country Leader and Regional Government Operations team on the development of overall company positions; provide government-relations guidance and incorporate local, regional, and national requirements into lobbying prioritization.
- Lead relationships with the Government Operations unit in Washington, D.C., and co-lead interactions between the European and D.C. teams.
- Represent Boeing’s interests in executive forums and present the company’s regional footprint to senior stakeholders.
- Collaborate with Boeing business units (Commercial, Defense, and Services) and relevant functions (e.g., Enterprise Sustainability, Engineering) to help advance their strategies, goals, and business activities.
- Deepen relations with government officials and political stakeholders to build stable contacts and develop positive perceptions and reputation for Boeing.
- Provide high-value intelligence on political dynamics of interest to Boeing.
- Lead advocacy for company positions regarding pending and/or proposed legislation and regulations, in consultation with subject-matter experts and internal and external stakeholders (e.g., government organizations, customers, coalitions, unions, associations), to achieve desired results.
- Track and analyze pending and existing legislation, news releases, and public-policy issues.
- Lead enterprise projects and company events involving government.
- Develop strategy for establishing and maintaining relationships with external entities (e.g., government organizations, business associations, unions) by networking, sharing information, and identifying areas of mutual interest.
Basic Qualifications (Required Skills/Experience):
- 10+ years of experience in government relations or a related field.
- Fluent in Polish.
- Superb communication and presentation skills.
Preferred Qualifications (Desired Skills/Experience):
- Experience interacting with and managing internal and external stakeholders within a business and government context.
- Experience representing business or government stakeholders to various groups and organizations.
- Successful interactions with governmental entities at all levels.
- Experience developing and working with complex policies in an international matrix organization and government.
- Understanding of international and national defense and security strategic contexts.
- Ability to connect and network with stakeholders at all levels.
- Ability to apply discretion.
- Ability to successfully navigate a complex, matrixed organizational structure.
- Ability and interest to conduct market research as needed.
- Industry experience and/or interest in aviation is a plus.
