QA Lead, Poland

Trivago Innovation Center is seeking a QA Lead to own quality across our booking products. We are building a facilitated booking experience within trivago, moving the company from metasearch toward a hybrid of meta and OTA. A booking only counts when it works from the first search through the confirmation email, touching many internal and external systems along the way. You will make sure it does.

This is a hands-on lead role. You set the testing direction and still write automation yourself. Manual end-to-end testing remains part of the job because automation cannot cover every system a booking passes through. AI already supports parts of our work, and we want it to play a bigger role in QA. Driving that is part of this role.

✓  Define the test strategy for our booking products and get engineering and product to adopt it.

✓  Write and maintain automated tests in Playwright, and decide what to automate next.

✓  Run manual and exploratory end-to-end tests across our own services, payment providers, advertiser integrations, and other external systems, and triage the defects with developers.

✓  Check that A/B test variants and analytics events work as intended before and during an experiment.

✓  Expand AI use in our QA work, for example, in test design and failure analysis, and measure whether it saves time or catches more bugs.

✓  Turn team OKRs into a plan and raise quality risks early with the Senior Product Manager.

✓  Inspire the other QAs on the team by sharing your strategy and hands-on experience.

This role reports to the Senior Product Manager.

Full-time, hybrid, based in Poland.

✓  Experience defining a test strategy and getting a team to adopt it.

✓  Hands-on experience testing end-to-end flows, such as booking or e-commerce, that span internal services and external systems like payments and third-party APIs.

✓  Solid manual testing skills, including exploratory testing and writing clear test cases.

✓  Test automation experience, ideally with Playwright and TypeScript. Other frameworks count too.

✓  Experience testing APIs with tools such as Postman, Fiddler, or browser dev tools, and a working knowledge of SQL.

✓  Experience in Agile/Scrum teams, and strong analytical and troubleshooting skills.

✓  The ability to influence without formal authority: you know when to give direction and when to step back.

✓  You already use AI tools in your work, or you want to start, and you will help the other QAs do the same. On the Trivago Innovation Center team, leads are expected to be AI fluent.

✓  You are at ease in a small team where priorities change, and you step in wherever quality needs help.
