Summary:
The Regulatory & Grid Manager plays a pivotal role in
ensuring the seamless integration, compliance, and operational
efficiency of renewable energy assets within the electrical grid.
Reporting to the Head of Operations or Chief Technology Officer,
this position is responsible for navigating complex regulatory
frameworks, maintaining compliance with national and regional grid
codes, and leading strategic coordination with grid operators,
transmission system operators (TSOs), and regulatory authorities.
The ideal candidate will possess deep expertise in grid
interconnection processes, renewable energy market regulations, and
real -time grid management systems. This role is critical to
optimizing project performance, securing timely grid access,
managing compliance risks, and supporting the long -term scalability
of renewable energy portfolios. With a strong focus on innovation,
sustainability, and regulatory foresight, the Regulatory & Grid
Manager ensures that the company remains at the forefront of clean
energy deployment while meeting all technical, legal, and
operational requirements.


Responsibilities:
  • Lead all regulatory and grid -related compliance activities for
    renewable energy projects across the portfolio.
  • Serve as the primary point of contact with transmission system
    operators (TSOs), distribution system operators (DSOs), and
    regulatory bodies (e.g., FERC, NERC, or equivalent regional authorities).
  • Manage the end -to -end grid interconnection process, including
    application submissions, technical studies (e.g., impact
    studies, short -circuit analysis), and coordination with grid operators.
  • Ensure adherence to national and regional grid codes,
    including requirements for voltage regulation, frequency
    response, fault ride -through, and power quality.
  • Develop and maintain regulatory strategies to anticipate and
    respond to policy changes, market rule updates, and grid
    modernization initiatives.
  • Collaborate with engineering and project teams to ensure
    technical designs meet grid interconnection requirements and
    performance standards.
  • Monitor and analyze grid conditions, congestion, and market
    signals to optimize project dispatch and revenue potential.
  • Prepare and submit regulatory filings, compliance reports, and
    technical documentation in alignment with statutory and
    contractual obligations.
  • Lead cross -functional teams in responding to grid operator
    inquiries, outages, and emergency procedures.
  • Support the development of new project proposals by providing
    early -stage grid feasibility assessments and regulatory risk evaluations.
  • Maintain a comprehensive understanding of evolving renewable
    energy market structures, including capacity markets, ancillary
    services, and grid access tariffs.


Requirements


  • Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering, Energy Systems,
    or a related technical field;  
  • 5+ years of progressive experience in grid management,
    regulatory compliance, or project development within the
    renewable energy sector.
  • Proven track record in managing grid interconnection
    applications and working with TSOs/DSOs in complex regulatory environments.
  • In -depth knowledge of grid codes, power system stability, and
    renewable energy integration standards (e.g., IEEE 1547, IEC
    61400 -21, NERC standards).
  • Strong understanding of energy market operations, including
    wholesale markets, capacity mechanisms, and ancillary services.
  • Excellent analytical, negotiation, and stakeholder management
    skills with experience engaging with regulators, utilities, and
    government agencies.
  • Proficiency in grid modeling and simulation tools (e.g.,
    PSS/E, DIgSILENT, PowerWorld) and familiarity with SCADA/EMS systems.
  • Ability to manage multiple projects under tight deadlines
    while maintaining accuracy and regulatory rigor.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills with the
    ability to present technical and regulatory information to
    non -technical audiences.
  • Experience with regulatory compliance frameworks such as FERC
    Order 841, Order 2006, or equivalent regional mandates.
  • Willingness to travel to project sites and attend regulatory
    hearings or industry forums as needed.
