Job Description - VoIP Support Specialist

• Support and maintain VoIP systems using commercial and open-source tools
• Configure and troubleshoot SIP-based call flows and protocols (SIP, RTP, SRTP, RTCP)
• Assist in developing and testing dial plans, routing logic, and number translation rules
• Monitor system performance, security, and reliability using tools like Wireshark or Homer
• Collaborate with senior engineers to integrate VoIP with other systems and services
• Help resolve technical issues related to VoIP and SBC configurations
• Maintain internal documentation for processes and procedures
• Participate in continuous learning and training activitiesTechnical knowledge:
• Basic understanding of Session Border Controller (SBC) solutions, including commercial and open-source options
• First experience with open-source VoIP platforms such as FreeSWITCH, Asterisk, Kamailio or OpenSIPS
• Good understanding of SIP, RTP, and related VoIP protocols
 
Networking & Security:
• Familiarity with basic networking concepts (TCP/IP, NAT, VLANs)
• Awareness of VoIP-specific security practices (e.g. TLS, SRTP, firewalls)
 
Programming & Scripting (Nice to Have):
• Optional experience with scripting languages like Python or Bash
• Basic understanding of API usage and working with RESTful services
 
Soft Skills:
• Good communication skills in English (written and spoken)
• Proactive and curious mindset, willingness to learn and grow
• Ability to work both independently and as part of a team
